Yeah, daft really, when the gun the guy is holding is clearly a thompson, and the tank is clearly a sherman, and the planes are clearly messerschmitts and spitfires, and the theatre of war map shown is clearly WW2 europe Hehe, its a bit like making a film about a battle between an army using rifles, cannons and cavalry led by a shortish, fellow...fighting against another army, who have come from an island country, with rifles, cannons and cavalry, led by a tallish guy with a big nose. Who wins the fight partly due to rain the night before affecting the artillery of one of the armies...and saying , nope..nope its nothing to do with Waterloo

Yeah, pretty sure swastikas are banned in germany, most likely that. Shame though that we have to feel so afraid of a symbol that we need to remove it from a video game, but thats a whole different topic I see why they have done it, I just dont like that they have had to do it. Still should be a fun game though

Only thing which really bugs me about this is the over the top political correctness of it. Black X instead of swastikas on the german stuff, the german army in it being called "The National Army" and the british army being called "The Royal Army". PC is really beginning to become a bugbear of mine. Looks like alot of fun though, just wish they didnt have to feel like they have to remove stuff like allies, nazis and swastikas

I really prefer this over google earth, but just went to maps.live.com and it seems to be gone? Looking around I cant seem to find microsofts satellite maps anywhere. Anyone know whats happened to it? EDIT : doh...ignore me..I recently swapped to trying out Opera as my browser, seems I cant get maps.live.com on it

Yeah although VPN struck me as the easiest/quickest to setup, I was concerned about any speed issues. SUN desktop would be quite useful, wonder if our LEA will do that as well. Will have to investigate that.

Given the state that our SIMS has gotten into in the last few years, and the fact that its going to take someone ( I wonder who), months to get all the data in SIMS corrected..the idea of home access to SIMS has cropped up. I remember a few discussions in the past about it on here, and am wondering what the consensus is on the easiest method. Those people who have gone this route, which method did you use? TS? VPN? Something else? Am thinking VPN is going to be the easiest.

Hopefully Phil is around and taking a peek Been onto the capita support forums/KB , cant seem to find too much on there regarding this. Essentially, our problem is this, our staff contract details on SIMS are in a right mess, have been for yonks. The bursar has decided that its about time all the staff details were put in order, as at the moment we cannot even change someones address or car registration etc as it prevents the staff members details being saved due to a mess of errors to do with contract start dates and hours/week and weeks/year and pro rata and all manner of goodies. Annnnnyway...the crux of it is that our teaching staff should be on a prorata of 1.000 based on 52.143 weeks a year. Trouble is of course that by having the weeks/year as 52.143 it doesnt tally with the Total Weeks figure which doesnt allow decimal points and so is 52. A workaround is to put the weeks/year at 52 as well, but then that drops the prorata figure below 1.000 er...is this making any sense? Question is, what should we do, leave the prorata at under 1, which isnt right, change the weeks/year on everyone to 52 rather than 52.143 , change the service term to 52 instead of 52.143 ....or smash the server? Any ideas Phil? (or indeed anyone else)

We've had a sudden spate of kids doing this in the last month or so, havent had it happen before, then suddenly everyone is making command bat files. Must be something going round. We used software restrictions in the group policy to stop them being able to actually run the bat files, but the little tykes still make them in the hope they will work
