    That's It!

Good luck Witch ! I move to my new position at the start of the year too, just working my notice period here (ends next tuesday) and then try to relax over christmas so that I am fresh for the new job in january.
  2. Well it was mostly monopoly money, but I printed it on a high quality OKI so I dont think they noticed the difference Just got to work the rest of my notice period here now and then start at the new place in the new year. My current NM (Disease on these forums) is sorry to see me go, at least thats what he says when I am around... no doubt he is partying about it when I am not looking
  3. Moi ?! Wandering hands?
  4. I have actually noticed that nobody seems to shut the windows in this cage room, and with winter being here its getting quite chilly in the evenings.... so if anyone wants to come into the cage and warm me up, that'd be fine with me
  5. Mmmmmmm, pom poms......
  6. Thanks all, just nervous now about whether I can do this job or not. Its kind of a step up in terms of technical knowledge, so might have to spend christmas swotting up if I am going to be able to do it properly
  7. Jan 5th, new year, new job !
  8. /trevormcdonald on Shock within the IT industry as employer agrees to take on Jake... /trevormcdonald off Yes its true, I'm as astonished and amazed as you all are, but incredibly (after what I thought was a quite poor effort at an interview day by me) its turned out that another school has decided that I am the right (or should that be the lesser of the candidate evils) person for their job. Now I am hoping that I am good enough to actually pull off this new job, the technical task given during the day really hit my confidence at the time as I suddenly thought that I didnt know as much as I should do and at that point I was certain the position was going to an internal candidate. Somehow I turned it around, or maybe it was that wedge of £50 notes I passed across the interview table
  9. Fixed ....
  10. Knee (or Thigh) boots imo (or the first pair if I had to choose between those ones)
  11. Whichever one is the easiest to undo Wahey ! How the devil could I keep out of a thread like this???
  12. To sum it up, I made a thread with a query on a problem we were having with a certain piece of well known school management software. I began the thread with a somewhat tongue in cheek rant at an unnamed member of staff, as a lighthearted prelude to the more serious portion of my post (As of course many of you are aware, I tend towards the lighthearted quite often). I am very careful never to name names, or indeed even give the name of my school, or even my county. So there were no identifiers involved. However, there are maybe 3 people on here who actually know who and where I work. So it doesnt take a rocket scientist to work out who did what follows.. Someone at our LA, printed out the thread, and passed it to the school in an unstamped envelope, which was then shown to the unnamed member of staff. Which of course has left me in alot of hot water, despite the fact that I used no names, and did nothing more really than the forum equivalent of talking down the pub to a mate about my day. There are further issues as to what I have been using Edugeek for, in relation to the management software in question, but thats a seperate issue really. Where it will go from here, I do not yet know. To be blindingly honest my work morale was pretty much at a deepened low before this morning, so this has simply smashed my morale through the floor. At the moment, the french foreign legion is looking mighty inviting. I guess this is the final post by Jake, you've been a great and often useful bunch, helped to solve alot of varied issues and more importantly given me a way to talk openly with my peers who work in the same industry and are familiar with the same issues, frustrations and unique situations that we find ourselves in. Sadly it seems that being able to talk openly, perhaps emotionally, even if in jest, is no longer allowed in the UK, so for fear of my every post being watched like a hawk now I must bid you all adieu. /salute /end
  13. That one I have considered
  14. I could, but of course now I will forever be wondering if my every post is being watched by the powers that be, merely even asking Capita for help or seeking support here could again land me in all manner of troubles. Heaven forbid should I go somewhere other than my LA for Sims support.
  15. Thanks Witch, its not my choice to go, but my hand has been forced. Been a laugh over the years though (and informative from time to time )
  16. I can only wholeheartedly agree with what Russdev has said, and give my farewells and thanks to Edugeek, best of luck to you all. Lets face it, in this industry we need as much luck as we can get.
  17. We have the sept update on solus, havent actually done it yet. Could it be that its needed for the census? Has anyone done the census without the sept update?
  18. Ok...the office has gone to do the Census today, and we're getting millions of error 2500 codes on all the pupils. Looking at our attendance codes, they dont seem to match the DFES ones, for instance our X codes are still X , when they should be # . I thought those codes were supposed to change in august? Aside from all that, we are on Sims 7.108, but in the office they are using Attendance 6.69. Shouldnt we be on Attendance 7 by now? Under the focus menu, we dont have any Attendance sub menu listed. Come to think of it, are our 2500 code errors even related to the attendance codes being wrong? I suspect they are as its of course got the wrong code on all the inset days
  19. No idea at all to be honest. I'll ask again
  20. Anyway, the crux of the problem that the exams officer is having. In Sims, she is attempting to add a new course in the Course Manager, its an OCR First National Award Level 2. If you look under maintain course classification and set it to QAN, it shows both the Level 1 and Level 2. If however you set it to Level, it only shows Level 1. When she goes into Maintain Course and clicks on new, in the Level field dropdown, its only showing OCR First National Award Level 1. Theres no Level 2 option listed, so she cant add the course. Anyone got a clue?

Good lord, heya Ash , didnt know you came here !
  22. What kinds of training courses etc are available? We (the tech dept) have mentioned several times to SMT that we feel there is a need for training of staff, but are repeatedly told by them that people have done courses before but the courses only covered the bare basics and didnt go into any real depth on the advanced uses of SIMS.
  23. Ever since the August update (which appeared to go perfectly well), the "Favourites" section on the bottom left corner of the homepage isnt updating for anyone. Before the update , things that people looked at appeared automatically down in the Favourites area but now you can view say assessment or student behaviour and it doesnt appear down in the favourites area anymore.
  24. Wonder how long it will be before a teacher comes into the office and says "Did you have a nice break?"

No idea what framerates I am getting as I havent checked, but everything is running smoothly for me, and I've been involved in some pretty largescale Keep battles with my guild (we had 30 guildmembers plus maybe another 15-20 pug people who turned up..I think the attackers had around 30-maybe 50 people, was hard to say as some kept moving away to attack stragglers..but roughly almost 100 people in the vicinity) My specs, AMD X2 6000+ 4 Gig Ram 768mb Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX Running Vista VM 20mb connection
