Any update on my post above on how to get the follow-me printer to show on remote clients when it's on the local rdp server? Seems to work with IP printers but not the follow-me as its a UNC path shared printer?

I'm looking to test this too, however when the following is stated, i'm not sure i understand what it means? 8.Edit staffmapping.xml putting email addresses against the staff's details that SIMS will spit out 9.Edit roommapping.xml putting email addresses against the room code that SIMS will spit out anyone still using this successfully and is there a way to test a few years without all when running for the first time?

Hi, I've been testing our ipads through a new proxy and the first time i connected and opened safari I was prompted for proxy credentials, so i logged in with a test user. Now i want to deploy them, I need to change the user. Apart from a factory which should not be required, i have tried resetting network settings, and also removed all the proxy details and re-applied. How do i remove the cached http(s) proxy credentials as the filtering reports still show the original testing users details. Thanks.

Occurs here, i thought it was a photocopier issue rather than papercut but yes, get called when documents are released but not printed, but then they come and say will i still be charged as papercut things it's been printed. Papercut and all our copiers are on latest versions of software/firmware, only solution is to restart the copier.

I've set up google cloud sync to sync from AD to google, however i have existing users which i have manually created in the admin console. I have clicked the test sync button and for accounts which already exist I get the following message for each user which already exists. Modify user 20: "[email protected] Change stored non-address primary key to "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" Does this mean that any existing users will get their password updated to that within AD? or how will the sync affect existing users an their documents? Thanks.

Thats how currently do it , but relies on a manual export /import at both organisations. Integration to join the 2 is proably more for what i'm looking for. Will look into this.

Hi, If 2 organisations have separate email systems, local exchange and office 365, is it possible to create a trust where users can all been seen across both organisations in address lists, or would both have to all be on 365 or local exchange (one or the other? The local exchange server organisation has Azure AD sync installed to use 365 applications/logins.

Hi, I've just updated our GPO central policydefinitions folder with the windows 10 templates. however when i now go in to edit policies and go to administrative templates, i get the error below. How do i resolve this ?

Yes done it before. Due to a school merger i had to merge 2 AD networks in 1 new one. went very smooth with minimal downtime. as long as you have a trust in place between the 2 domains it wont matter which domain your server/clients are members of, you will be able to access resources. it can be a big job when exchange is involved but I managed to do a complete migration in the summer holidays! all users logins remained the same

We don't use Office 365 in the repect for email or storage, but you can still use your school email address as a 365 login for services. All i have is the Azure AD connector which creates o365 accounts based on AD users , so you can use your school email address and AD password to login to any 365 service online. It's all free and means you can then use your email address and AD password for any logins that will work with 365 accounts.

Office 365 or Gmail accounts are an option too. We have google accounts for classroom so they can only use Google Drive, but email part is blocked.

Agreed , the most sensitive data should still be kept local no matter what. You then know WHERE the data is store, WHO it is shared with and you have control over it. SIMS will be interesting if they go fully cloud - i'll wait for the day to see how good the performance is!

The more that is moved to the cloud, the less need for technical staff on-site. Then comes the "i cannot fix it as it's on the internet' response and no idea when things will be back online. At least with services in-house if anything goes wrong you can jump on it straight away and resolve. If i was relying on eveything on the cloud the job would be quite boring!

Only ever had papercut - works fairly well just odd times printers or the utility doesnt pull in, but discovered we arent the only ones who get this. Was weary going centralised - single point of failure rather than directly printing to IPs but touch wood never had any downtime in 3 years.

I've got SIMS.net working remotely using RemoteAPp on server 2012 R2. Have spun up a new 2016 server with RemoteAPP installed and tested with a couple of built in apps and all works ok. However, when i add SIMS.net i get the flash of the sims app on the taskbar but the login box doesnt show. Anyone successfully got SIMS.net working on Server 2016 RemoteApp? Thanks.

How does everyone restore their AD envionment to a test environment and get AD working correctly? I want to duplicate our AD in a test environment. I've run a full backup using wbadmin -allcritical and can restore it another server no issues. However after changing the DHCP IP to the servers proper IP and rebooting I still cannot access AD Users and computer or anything AD related. DNS is working OK - lists everything, and an NSLOOKUP works for the DC and any other DNS entries. I've tried flushdns, registerdns eeven rebo If I right click in AD users and computers and choose select domain it shows but doesn't load and get 'could not locate the domain' - or the server is not operational What other steps are required as this should be a bare metal restore. All FSMO roles were on this server. If I choose connect to another domain controller and type the server name in, it will show was Online but no other fields populate and still cannot access AD.

Always used roaming profiles here, still do with windows 10 and had no issues. Every now and again reset a profile but is very rare need to.

As part of the Windows 10 Deployment, edge was disabled via policies so doesnt appear in the start menu, searches or icon on taskbar, but the program still exists in C:\windows\ I've checked in the GPO and the applocker settings were the edge entry is set to deny for 'everyone'/ If i amend the policy reboot a pc with the policy on, it still cannot be access. What have it missed - how do i re-enable use of Microsoft Edge once it has been disabled? Some sites are not working/supported in IE but do in Edge and believe one day IE will no longer be supported!

Thought thats why there is a 'bare metal' option when backing up, so after it's restored and rebooted it will install devices/drivers

all my users have a custom OWA policy as it's set not to display photos in OWA - so just wondering when i update the server with the CU it is going to reset this back so all users get photos until i can get the policy re-created.

Didn't particularly want to keep 2 backups - also any issues with running p2v on a live exchange server?!
