To be fair, that simply sounds like an unreachable IP address. It's unlikely that the printer has crashed.
-
From what I've seen, you need to apply the patches to both server and client, or it will introduce the printer connection issues described above. https://msrc.microsoft.com/update-guide/vulnerability/CVE-2021-36958

It sounds like you want to use the unathenticated printing feature: https://www.papercut.com/kb/Main/UnauthenticatedPrinting

Is there ever going to be a fix for the print management error?
gds64 replied to Sheridan's topic in Windows 10
It's just fixed mine, well spotted. -
Assuming that you're using Follow You / Me printing, you'll need to enable the "find me printing" option and specify the output queue on the device within PaperCut MF.
-
On the print server, add the printer using the option for the Equitrac port type, and follow the prompts. That will also add the printer to Equitrac system manager.

Do the user codes already exist on the Ricoh?
-
Do you have any network asset management applications that may be running a scan? I've seen something similar before.
-
Are you using the integrated scanning option within PaperCut, or just using PaperCut to provide user email details?

OK, so what happens if you print to the older machine using the driver for the newer? The older driver may not play well with Server 2019.
-
Have you tried disabling your antivirus application on the print server (as a test)?

I'd heard that AIT were no longer trading. You should be able to get support from support(at)pcounter.com though.

Papercut Script - allow specific user to print specfic filenames only
gds64 replied to LeightonJames's topic in Scripts
How about setting the user (in PaperCut) to be an unauthenticated user, enable "Print account selection" with standard account selection as the selected option, but then only enable "Allow user to perform printing as another user "? Run the PaperCut client on the laptops and it'll force the user to login with their own Windows account each time they submit a job. Would that do what you need? -
Hi Matt, I'm sure that they'll be referring to the deployment of the virtual queue which would be your responsibility. Assuming that you're getting PaperCut and the hardware from the same supplier, then I'd expect them to be doing the installation and configuration of PaperCut to match your requirements.

With Sharp devices using integrated scanning, it's the PaperCut Application Server service account that writes the file to the remote directories. The service account will need rights accordingly. This may be a different process for other manufacturers devices.

On our device, (MX4070) we have System Settings > Scan settings > Default address set to "Apply email address of the user for login" set, which pre-populates the destination address.

Are the older clients 32 bit? Have you changed the 32 bit drivers on the server as well if that's the case?

Unfortunately not, bluetooth inbound only, so you can use it as a speaker for streaming from a phone or similar. Don't get me wrong, I think that both devices are good - and it's not all about music (but it helps..). The other day, GH couldn't find Radio 2 ("That's not available right now"), whereas the DOT worked immediately without an issue - both were using Tunein. The DOT, however, sometimes can't find devices on my network such as power adapters when the GH can. Neither liked Energenie MiHome sockets most of the time, so I've switched now to using a Sonoff RF bridge to connect the Energenie sockets rather than their own hub - with much better results.

I have a Google Home mini, and whilst the speaker is much better than that of the Echo Dot that I also have, neither are brilliant. You can however, cast audio to a Chromecast device connected to a better speaker from the Google Home mini - but this is where the Echo Dot wins, because you can connect it to a bluetooth speaker (I use a Samsung R1) without the expense of a Chromecast.

If the print queue isn't being mapped, it's probably not a PaperCut issue.
-
An Ad-hoc user list report will allow you to specify specific groups, if that helps?
-
I'd say that it's requesting A4 "coloured" paper. It's probably a print driver setting such as "paper type" or similar.

What make of MFD? Configuration varies dependent on the Make and Model.

I think that you'll need to use an ipp port if printing via the Mac. Use the add printer wizard to add a network printer - and select "my printer wasn't found" (or words to that effect) In the "select printer by name" dialog, add the path to the printer in the format ipp://:631/printers/ Note that you'll have to manually install the drivers (either Postscript or PCL, depending on the physical printer.
