How do you facilitate that?

Is anyone using Impero to enforce the use of Encryted USB drives? We're about to roll it out, but we need to make exceptions for things like BBC MicroBits etc. This can be done with the "Device Allow List" in the USB Management section, but we're struggling to enable specific SD cards. We do a lot of digital arts and photography, so we need to let the students transfer the photos they take from the cameras to the PCs via SD card. Impero will only seem to "allow" the SD card reader/camera, and not the SD card itself. This creates a big open door in our "enforce encryption" policy - as effectively any SD card can be used to copy/transfer data via one of the "allowed" SD card readers. I was just wondering if any of you guys were experiencing the same dilemma, or if you had any bright ideas on a workaround? Cheers!

There are some new ADM files from Google for Chrome with specific and separate YouTube Safety Mode and Google Safe Search settings. Unfortunately thought, these new setting won't overwrite the existing and generic ForceSafeSearch that might be in place from the earlier ADM template, so you may have to remove those old policies in order to get this working.

If they're logging on for the first time, or haven't even logged in yet, it might be easier to just delete the accounts and set them up again.

We were having a play around with this, this morning as Safety Mode was kicking in too invasively for our liking. It turns out that it's Force SafeSearch that now applies to YouTube's Safety Mode - Google changed it apparently. There is a registry setting you can hack manually if you want to bypass this without removing the GPO setting: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Google\Chrome - ForceSafeSearch=0

But that would affect IE too, wouldn't it? Do you have the Chrome ADM templates installed in your AD Group Policies. There are some Safe Search settings buried in those somewhere.

Erm, how do you do it?!? At one of my schools, RM SafetyNet the only form of filtering we have. We have a games epidemic at the moment and I want blanket ban anything with "games" in the URL. I have added a deny rule for *games* which works for http sites and google searches etc. However, any https games sites still work. One in particular that the lads like to use is https://sites.google.com/site/unblockedgames77/ I have installed the RM SSL Filtering Certificate (tested and working) and updated the proxy settings to use sslfilter.proxy.rmplc.co.uk:8080 but it's made no difference to https sites. The above site is still not being picked up by the *games* rule. I then added a another deny rule for that specific URL, but still no joy Am I missing something here, or is it impossible to filter https sites with RM SafetyNet?

These are what I used to use when I was gigging a lot. Great for reducing overall volume without muffling the higher frequencies, which is what happens with your standard 'screwfix' earplugs. They do a slimmer one if, like me, you have small ear-'oles.

Plugging into an amp or sutin?

I am looking to install a new WiFi solution at one of the schools I look after. It's just a mishmash of ad-hoc access points at the moment and a complete new system is required. We currently use Ruckus at my other school. It's been in place for about 4 years now and hasn't let us down and would be my 'go to' choice for any new wireless install... but with budgets being as they are I need to seriously consider Ubiquiti Unifi as it is coming in so much cheaper than Ruckus is now. So, my request/question is two-fold; Firstly, is there anyone in or around Birmingham that uses Unifi that wouldn't mind sparing 10-15 minutes of their time to show me their system and what it's like to manage etc. And secondly, if anyone has a spare Unifi AP that I could borrow to perform a site survey and map out AP locations. What will you be using for audio? Built-in speakers on monitors won't be up to the task unless you sit about 12" away from your screen!

Cheers @mjk - We are considering a whole school roll-out at some point, and there's no real way of knowing how many concurrent users we'll have on at once. Is there a hard limit in place? IE Would services fail if you tried to connect more users than you have licenses for?

How does the licensing work for XenApp? Per user? Per device?
