To fully add a domain to 365 it has to be verified, to do that you have to verify against DNS for the domain by one of a number of methods all requiring access to the domain DNS control panel. If this was not the case then I could log into 365, register every domain in the world that has not already been registerd and none of them would be able to use 365... From what the OP says he has never created a 365 account for the domain he is using. Rob

Watch out on second hand panels, they may have the BOSS engineeer code or the NVRAM locked and these can make the pannel worthless. Veritas does support RKP's LCD or LED or both depending on model but will not support the Premier RKP's Given that you have the RKP's for a premier i would go with that & hide the system unit out of site. I Installed a Texecom Veritas Excell in my old house, Looking at either another Excell or a Premier for this house. Don't go below an R8+ as they don't have a com port for programming. Note the Premier 24 is not a full 24 Zone unit but an 8 zone with Remote expanders. All units are battery backed as they have to be. Rob

Buy an internet one and fudge your internal DNS We have to do that so that our internal clients can get to our webmail server without cert warnings. Rob

Update the drive firmware, If you can turn of drive level CRC to test ( will probably need to verify the tape after backup) One of our autoloaders currently has a stuck tape, disputing the waranty on that at the moment.. Our other one failed the robot 4 days before it's warranty ran out and got a complete refurb unit from dell. Rob

Very very very carfuly read the T's and C's of any offer. For example RAC and AA "Relay" will only deliver you home if your car cannot be repaired in a reasonable time at one of their local garages to the breakdown. If your car is of lilited value then this can be a dangerous option. For example... circa 2006 I had a car worth ~£150 . On route back from Devon to Carlisle the propshaft coupling broke up 30 miles into the journey. Leaving 340! I Knew instantly the part was unavailable, had been for years ( which was fortunate ) but the AA turned up after an hour and then insisted on trying to see if a local garage could fix the problem. It would have been £75 for the part and probably £150 labour after a few cups of tea.. Fortunatly as expected they could not get a garage to repair.. Unforuntalt it took from 8AM breakdown to 8:30PM for us to get home!! That's a low value example, but a larger cost breakdown could land you with an awkward situation.. Rob

Realy depends on the AP and what options it has. Should be able to limit DHCP to the wireless side. If you have a new subnet then you will need to tell your existing hosts the route to that new network (as the lan interface of the AP), or setup a static route on your default gateway to the lan interface. Unless your splitting the subnet into two scopes between the lan and the wifi.. Rob

Sorry my Bad.. Thomasaca..... 1st rule of thumb when you own a domain.. Don't let someone else manage it. We had a domain registered once by an orginisation that set up the new organisation, we did not register it but the powers that be wanted to use that address.... then the registrant went bancrupt, we could not get the domain, the DNS went down the e-mail stopped flowing and the powers that be had to switch to one of our own registerd domains that we had control of... Get onto the ISP, find out who registed the txt record, get whoever did it to login to whichever 365 instance it is on and get them to de-register the domain. You should then be able to validate the domain using your own txt record. Rob

I did that once on a Dell Storage server although I was under the impression that I had the right non domain password. Downloaded a boot CD and set the local admin password in a couple of mins. Rob

Who's the SP? The error your getting basicaly states the domain has already been added to 365. Your MX record currently points at mail.thompsonacademy.peterboroughschools.org.uk. on 195.219.213.217 ( is this you or the SP?) Rob

Who has access to the DNS administration for this domain? Rob

What domain are you actualy tring to use? Normally you would setup "myschool.county.sch.uk" as an accepted domain, add the validation txt to your DNS for that domain and it should work. Are you saying you own domain won't validate? Rob

Pupils plugging/unplugging is a health and saftey concern that needs to be considred. Pupils with trailing cables is a health and safety concern that needs to be considred. Pupils overusing the WiFi is a technical concern. Pupils using your wifi to attack other BYOD laptops is a technical concern. The way BYOD is delivered to the pupil and how you enforce security of your network and enforce e-safety is a concern. List goes on. We: Have a BYOD wireless vlan, traffic between clients is prevented on this by the wireless firewall. When the students connect, all they get is a redirect to a BYOD login. When they login they get redirected to our virtual desktop. They can only do what they can do on one of our laptops or terminals so all normal e-safety measures are in place. Their bandwidth useage on the wifi is low as they only used VDI and can't use P2P tools via our WIFI to other users. Take up has been fairly low probably due to the fact that they don't get any special privilage or unfiltered access. Rob

Although I hate to say it, with XenServer Now having all it's features in the free licence it's a reasonable choice for small scale deployments where you want HA. I do much prefere vSphere though. Rob
