What they are looking for is the following Import images, easily Insert annotations Create contact sheets And the hard one is it needs to look like a sketchbook i.e Turn pages and be able to stylize the book Has anyone seen or uses something that would meet the above requirements. Thanks

we have several Interactive Whiteboards brought from a company called Interactive Education, I believe that the boards are a Numonics board (might be Genieware not 100% sure). The pens from Interactive Education have been steadily raising, does anyone know another supplier of these pens?

If you have access to SupportNet then you want KB 18694 if not pm me an email address and I'll send you the file from SupportNet for the Permission groups and what access each give

We have that problem. We use the home location as a UNC address however we also map the drive to S: If the students access the my documents link it tries to access the UNC path and gives that error but if you access it through the S: it works fine. After testing it I came to the conclusion that it was because audacity doesn't like UNC addresses.

Trying to use a network location as the library location in Xibo
notalot replied to notalot's topic in Web Development
Had thought about that but hadnt tried it, but no luck same error. -
Hi, been working on this on for a few days now and not getting very far with it. We are trying to use our SAN as the library location for Xibo, however whenever we try and set it Xibo says "There has been an application error. The Library Location you have picked is not writable to the Xibo Server." So as a test I have set the "Everyone" group up on the SAN with full control, with no luck. Also I download XAMPP on my office PC and set Xibo up the same using the same location (\\SAN\Videos\Xibo) and it worked without any problem. We are using Windows 2008R2 with IIS 7 installed, PHP version 5.3.8 and Xibo 1.2.2.1. I've tried to use a different server (just a virtual), downgrading PHP and reinstalling Xibo and IIS. Any Thoughts?

We have been using Cashless for just over a year now 1) 1 day we were cash, the next we were cashless. 2) Letters home, parents evening and an open evening to cover it, infomation also given out in tutor 3) same as Glennda, we went for a year group at a time in form order, it took 2 hours or so 1200 students (several extra pc's for the day) 4) we use Squid, this give all of the access to add cash via card and allows perents to see what the kids have ate 5) as above for credit cards, we also have 2 reval units, which allows cash to be added to an account instently 6) primarly we use Biometrics but we do have a few that refused and they use cards 7) No refunds, this is the fault of squid 8) as allways had a few problems but with Cunninghams on site for the first 3 days they resolved most problems 9) pen and paper like glennda 10) Yes, £2.30 the cost of a meal 11) only ever seen cunninghams system with Squid so cant comment, however Cunninghams originaly installed 10 systems and 1 server (a tower pc with no redundencys and no ups), we eventuly got this changed, not sure if this is the spec that was wrong as it was orgnised by the LA. However the support by cunninghams is good, we have had a few issues, 1 or 2 major problems but everything is running well currently (touch wood)

What will help to slow the problem of piracy (as you will never remove it completely) is to make the movies, music and games downloadable and at fair price, I'd bet that 50% of pirates will stop and download the legal content and support the creators. For me the more concerning problem is that this is starting us on the road to censorship. How far does it go, shall we block Google as you can find out how to download things, make bombs and etc. Shall we stop teaching Alevel chemistry and other subjects just because if you have half a brain you can take what you have learnt and use it in a illegal way. However this will be impossible to police, people will always find ways around filtering or other restrictions.

Your site should have some one that can perform DSE assessments, or at lease your LA should be able to help. The official line when enouncing these problems is that you should visit your GP and have it checked out (mainly to rule out any underlying medical conditions) but you may find that a simple wrist rest for your mouse and keyboard could resolve your problems. Also making sure you take the appropriate brakes can help (10 mins in every hour is the current guideline) this can be any other work away from the computer, I know very unlikely to happen but they be the current guidelines. My understanding (may be wrong or it might have changed, please correct me if I'm wrong) is that workstation assessments were required by H&S every year or when a major change to a workstation had occurred, assuming that you use the computer for more than 2 hours per day.

From memory in 1.6.6 they added a new opengl system, I think you can disable it from within %appdata%\.minecraft in the options file. However this is completely from memory.

We use Cunningham’s and yes the use Biostore. We have had mixed dealing with Cunningham’s, when the system was first put in they insisted that it must run on their workgroup and that nothing they installed would need AV, yet the system is hooked on to the existing network (no vlan atm) also when they came to install the "server" it’s just a pc that they were going to install without a UPS or any fault tolerance (no raid or backups) they still don’t see the problem with that setup. Further to this, we had lots of faults to the point they sent out a senior tech out to site to look them over only to have him informing our users (very rudely) what they must have seen. Generally the equipment that has been provided is of a good quality, we’ve had some problems with the "reval units" (points that the students can put money on the system) eventually they replaced the main board after replacing every other part (a couple of parts twice). Since then we have had no problems with it. The Support calls that we have logged have been resolved mostly, there is an outstanding call with them at the moment regarding free school meals. Overall I would say that they are average, I wouldn’t recommend them from our experiences.
-
We haven’t contacted then in about 3-4 months so things might have improved however we have been dealing with them for about 3 years We have support from Capita for Lesson monitor, on several occasions we were forced to write letters of complaint to Capita regarding the handling of several cases, these ranged from standard copy and paste solutions that were applied to every problem regardless of what the fault was, support staff only communicating in emails regardless of if you requested a phone call re a problem they were dealing with and even to the point that they wouldn’t take our calls when we rang to some faults taking 6+ weeks to resolve. As I said this was 3-4 months ago and Capita might have improved.

We have been using ASDAN for 2 years now, if you would have asked me the same question a year ago i would have said to stay well clear, the only aloud the software to run is 800x600 and the software didn't resize the screen after the test was over. Also there was no way to recover a test if the internet had dropped out or some other computer related problem occurred. However recently they have made some wide spread changes, the software will run in 1024X768 (not tested it higher) and the software will allow you to have internet problems without causing the test to crash. Along with this they have used the same style of system as ALAN (promissor) where you can move students should you encounter problems. I have had to deal with ASDAN support on 4 occasions, in all cases a less then satisfactory response was given and no resolution was ever reached. Overall ASDAN are moving in the right direction but need to focus on the support they provide

Ulkary - It would be a very strange coincidence that both projectors failed with the same fault on 2 different models but the same make, yet it is possible laserblazer - Can try that once I get it down here, just preping a different laptop and projector for the staff member
-
Same brand of projector, but different models, Both Epson. We were thinking the same sort of thing (but to do with the VGA port on the laptop causing the damage to the projector somehow). How would you go about proving that.
-
3 weeks ago we had a call come in, saying that an Epson S5 projector was projecting the wrong colours, we changed out the lamp, cables, factory reset, a different laptop, cleaning the projectors prisms but to no avail. So the user was given a different projector, within a week the same problem has occurred on the newer projector. The problem happens on 2 different brands of laptop. Has anyone encountered anything like this before or has any idea what I can try?
