  1. If your driver has an auto detect for the front jacks then disable it, it will allow flash to play.
  2. I've seen similar with one of our 660's, there was a break in the monitor cable. Have you tried disconnecting the screen from the motherboard and connecting the laptop up to a external monitor, just as another thing to test.
  3. We used Excel to convert them all, the below is the code we used. (Biostore to Net2) =RIGHT(HEX2DEC($Cell),8)
  4. We used this company before, they went straight to our Head and SLT Team and before we knew it they were in and installing screens all over the site. The problem is the equipment is poor quality, the software is worse (individual setup and web interface per screen, no centrally managed system), the contract tied us in for 3 years and had to give 6 months notice to cancel and on top of all that it costs a huge amount annually. This was about 2 years ago granted You would do better in my opinion installing something like XIBO with some good quality screens. As Plexer said RUN!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. We are a secondary school with 1100 students and 150 staff. In September we put through 205,000 (that's not a typo) ish pages, that is staff and student printing as well as reprographics. As others have said install Papercut or some other print management software just to monitor the printing, it can generally point out the worst offenders.
  6. Hello, I have got a odd problem. When any of our users double click on a FLA file to edit it in Flash Pro CS6, Flash will load without any issues but you then have to go in to open and open the file again. When looking in the registry the default open command is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS6\flash.exe" "%1", I think that this is right. We are running Adobe CS6 on Windows 7 SP1. I'm a little lost as to what to actually try.
  7. Any one managed to get these working with a proxy server?
  8. Hi, our English department have brought some Barnes and Noble Nook Simple Touch e-readers the problem is that there is no way to use them with a proxy server. I was wondering if any one had the addresses for the registration servers as well as the Barnes and Noble book store address, I'm looking to make some changes to our firewall to allow the Nooks access to the internet without the proxy. Thanks Sorry if this is in the wrong section
  9. Thanks for the reply BatchFile Users have full control to their user area's. When you say format converter do you mean the office 2007 compatibility pack? if so its not installed. Ill try and find a few students that I could try with local admin and see what happens.
  10. Hello all. I'm currently having an issue where PowerPoint files are saving as TMP files rather than PPTX, I'm are not sure what could be causing this to happen. It doesn't appear to happen at any particular time and we get about 45 per 1 hour period spread across the whole hour but only during lessons. It happens from several rooms across the school (all based off the same image however). It has affected staff and students but much less for the staff. Our setup is the following; Windows server 2008 R2 (for student areas) Windows Server 2003 SP2 (for teaching staff areas) Sun Microsystems San 7210 (for support staff areas) Windows 7 X64 SP1 Office 2007 Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
  11. Same had this problem with only 3 out of 33 pc's deployed this year, I'm getting promising results from setting windows not to turn off the network adapter and to force 100FDx on the switch and the network adapter. The biggest problem I have is I cant replicate the problem so I can’t know for sure if this works.
  12. When we first changed over to windows 7 we had quite a problem simular to yours with printers. In the end we changed the GPO's to use the fully quantified domain name of the printers EG \\Server.Domain.Local\Printer. That resolved our problems.
  13. +1 for MRBS. Whilst this is true MRBS doesnt like a 2 week timetable out of the box, there has been several posts with methods that work to use a 2 week timetable, we for instance use a modified excel spreadsheet to do it, but I think there is a PHP method of doing it now, Just cant put my hands on the thread at the moment.
  14. I would imagen that you have resolved this by now but we saw this on a windows XP PC a week ago. The Teacher had installed Google Crome, relised that they installed Cromre, unnstalled it and it caused this. After a while of fiddling, ended up reinstalling crome and just hiding the shortcuts. I did try getting IE to be the default browser again but it didnt help as soon as I uninstalled crome each time it broke.
  15. Our head of ICT brought Abbyy Fine Reader (Text reconation), cant fault it realy. Its had one or 2 documents it cant change but it does 99% of them with no problems at all. As for the install its quite easy works with non admin uses happly (didnt need to fiddle with it at all). Only downside for us is that its individual keys for each pc, not sure if this is just because of the way it was brought.
  16. Thanks for the idea, however this is the sound recorder not the volume controls How would I achieve this using GPO? I've tried User Configuration>Administrative templates>control panel>Show only specified Control Panel items. This does hide everything other than Sound which is what I want to happen however it doesn't stop you lunching a shortcut to Add and remove or display
  17. Struggling a little with this one. I need to give access for students to control the Microphone volume in Windows 7 but not to be able to access the control panel. Currently we block access to the control panel using the "Prohibit access to the Control panel" GPO however under Windows 7 this also blocks access to the Recording options from the Sound icon on the toolbar. When we disable this GPO we are able to access the Recording options however you are able to see everything in the control panel. Because of this I added the GPO "Show only specified Control panel items" then added Microsoft.Sound. This made it so that you couldn't see anything other than sound from the control panel however if you know what the CPL file is for the control panel item you can lunch it without any restrictions. The other option to all of this is to set the Microphone recording volume to full using NIRCMD however this requires you to have something plugged in to the Microphone socket on the pc. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
  18. Of cource, however our peek is at about 5pm, just done the math and it should be fine however on the current 100 line upload isnt throttled. Indeed thats what it suggests however after speaking with VM yesterday they have no infomation at all on the 120 line other than when its comming to each area. Is it just me or are those tables confusing? After speaking with VM there is an addon called upgraged upstream but you have to pay extra that then throtles you, normal VM madness.
  19. I run a Minecraft server (a farly popular one) I rack up about .5TB per month of trafic. Im yet to do the exect math so dont know if it will effect me, but I know it will be close
  20. Just been on the phone to VM, there is no infomation about the current 100MB to 120MB limits however they are advising that the may be the same as the current 100MB limits
  21. We are completely stumped. We have tried the following compatibility Mode Admin account Different profiles New profiles Reinstall of Dreamweaver Patching to 8.02 The only thing that I haven't done is to rebuild our image and see if something went wrong there but I would have thought reinstalling DW would have resolved it. Our setup currently Windows 7 SP 1 Mandatory profiles Removed libraries Lots of reg edits to remove different shortcuts UAC off I'm not sure if there is anything that we missed but we are thinking about getting 5.5 (or 6) after Easter.
  22. We are having a very similar problem, however we have Dreamweaver 8. We found that the fault appears to move around the room at random, doesn't matter who I login as both my domain admin account, teacher or student accounts and this problem just exists. I put this down to the fact that the software is just old and are planning to upgrade to CS 5.5. Sorry to hijack this a bit but has any one got CS 5.5 running on windows 7 without problems, haven't had time to fully test the 30 day trial yet.
  23. We have a batch resizer called fotosizer, with a couple of changes it will overwrite the original files.
  24. No one doing this sort of thing?
