  1. My installation is on windows, from that experience I would say that it is probably timing out. Have a look at your php config file and increase the timeout time and try again. Alternatively in windows you can do an update via cmd instead. I imagine that similar can be done in ubuntu
  2. I did it by using the teachers google calendar and getting them to put their homework on there. Then I iframed that on to the course page of moodle and did a couple of javascript buttons to switch between teachers calendars. You can do it with any online calendar though it doesn't have to be google
  3. The cross trainer is an extremely inefficient method of cardio, its basically running made easy. Unless your knees are terrible you should be running or using the stair master, if your knees are bad I would still choose the bike over the cross trainer. 15 mins in a stair master and you will easily burn 150 calories. For your weights stick to the basics, deadlift, bench, squat. mon - 2000 meter row then deadlift wed - run then bench fri - stair master then squat etc * I'm a pt and nutritionist.
  4. Hi I am on moodle 2.5 using ldap sso, I have noticed that the setting enable "MS IE fast path" isn't working with versions of ie after 9. Does anyone know if there is an update for this feature or a way that I can solve this problem? Thanks for any help
  5. Yep i gave up on windows, I just bring my mac to work with me now. I have nearly finished making a blog for my first project, its a steep learning curve!
  6. Nope I hadnt, im just learning it now so I didnt know how to do that. I havent encountered many problems since I got it installed hopefully il be able to write my own web apps soon!
  7. It worked first time at home... proxies
  8. Im glad its not just me with the proxy problems! Proxys are such a hassle. I think im going to wait till I get home and install it on my mac, hopefully that will go smoother
  9. Hi Has anybody used ruby on rails before? I am having trouble with my installation, in that I cant get my bundle to install. I think it may be because I am behind a proxy as I have tried everything that I can think of to fix it. I have followed this guide Getting Started with Rails ? Ruby on Rails Guides to set up my ruby rails for the first time, I get the following error message: C:\Sites\blog>rails server Could not find gem 'rails (= 4.0.0) x86-mingw32' in the gems available on this machine. Run `bundle install` to install missing gems. C:\Sites\blog>bundle install Fetching source index from https://rubygems.org/ Could not fetch specs from https://rubygems.org/ When searching my directory I can find this mingw32 gem in the railsinstaller folder, is there a way that I can manually put it where it is supposed to be (where is it supposed to be?) Is it because I am behined a proxy... or have I missed something? Thanks for any help!
  10. I made a version like the link above with html and javascript in the end
  11. Hi I am looking for ideas here really, a teacher has asked me if they can have an area on their course page where they can write a calendar/schedule of the homework assigned to their classes. After a quick search online I found this this. I quite like the way that they have done it there and I was wondering if there is a similar moodle plugin? If not maybe i should just embed a google calendar.. What have other people done to accomplish this task? Thanks!
