Not seen it coming up on any PCs since! It seems to work on Windows 8 and 10 machines so no annoying/nagging upgrade messages!

Just checked and I had the same issue, repaired Office 2016 and it's now working.

We use this Group Policy: Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Store

Unplug the Dongle from the USB lead and then feed the lead through the hole and then plug in the Dongle - that way it doesnt matter how big your Dongle is.

I was just going to say the same thing! It doesn't look like paper, it looks like the back of the screen as the small rectangles are normally the part/model numbers of the screen (we repair/replace our own screens here) and there should be some aluminium backing on it so you dont see it all lit up like a Christmas tree from the backlight. I'd get in touch with whoever repaired it ASAP and send them a photo as it's not been done correctly.

Doesnt look messy as the metal just breaks away if you wobble it back and forth. You can get short 15cm-ish USB leads, it's just a case of seeing if there's room inside the case for the Dongle!

Is there not a expansion slot blanking plate you could modify so a USB cable with the Dongle on can pass through which you can then cable tie inside the computer? If not I'd be tempted to drill a hole in the rear of the case to facilitate such a thing. Or get the DT department to make you a metal box with a padlock that you could screw to the desk with the end of the USB cable with the Dongle on the end so it can't be nicked.

Because it's cheaper than going on a training course. That's why I purchased a MacBook 8yrs ago, I had no idea what they could do and it was cheaper to pay £800 for an Aluminium MacBook than to go on a training course for several thousand and I would at least have a laptop to use out of it. Just because the majority of people said one thing does not mean the OP had to do as you all suggested! They listened to what you had to say and made an informed decision to make up their own mind. I stand by my suggestion of Microsoft Office (for Mac) to create flyers - Publisher is not part of Office for Mac, weirdly Word has a couple of 'modes' one of which basically changes it in to a DTP.

It was someone in the Education department that added the licences to our account.

Download a previous version of iOS and downgrade the iPads. The manual download is an IPSW file and if I remember correctly, you use iTunes to install on your device. If you dont want to pay for anything then Microsoft have the 'net send' command that can send a one-way message to all your computers (or just individual ones should you wish). Tech support confirmed that you need to activate each PC individually and then manage the licences online. No issues in getting 500 free licences to install on all our machines, this was done the same day I sent an email to them. To activate the licence on a PC, you just open up the software and then enter the username and password to your Presonus account and it checks if you have a licence and then assigns one to that computer. If you need to re-image a PC you need to log on to your account on their website and remove the PC from the list to free up a licence etc.

I use 7-Zip to create a self-extracting compressed file and then deploy it.

I too have had a problem with nipples! Ive seen this with the 'proper' IBM Thinkpads that had the nipple things and a quick rub/wiggle and the pointer stopped moving on it's own - think it just got a bit dirty or something.

In answer to your question, yes I believe that when you run gpupdate/force the policies will be downloaded/cached on that PC.

Well, 100% of our laptops work OK with TPM.

I agree with getting an SSD but I would do a fresh install of the OS and your software and move your data across - a bit slower and more long winded than imaging/cloning it but it will mean it's at its optimum. If you still want to buy a new one, then get a MacBook as they're shiny and nice to use because they are different to Windows and as they say, " a change is as good as a rest". I have a MacBook at home (8yrs old and still going strong with RAM and SSD upgrades) that I use for basic things like web browsing and when you've been using Windows all day it doesnt feel like a 'bus-mans holiday' when you use it!

We cable tie the keyboards and mice to the power cable so we dont have to play 'Hunt The Faulty Mouse/Keyboard' - works a treat.

The third photo shows a slot for a Kensington lock doesnt it? That's what we use, well some are Kensington, some are Dell and some are unbranded - whatever was available and the cheapest at the time of purchase!

No idea - it's like getting blood out of a stone with some users! They just said some bits dont work and could it be a port that needs unblocking?! They try to think up a random solution rather than tell us (or screenshot us) what the problem is. I've told them to log the exact issue on the helpdesk and then (and only then) can we look in to it.

We're currently testing Teams to see if it's any good and our ICT Teachers have informed us they have issues with on the Web but it works fine through the Desktop App!
