hmm. I have had some schools where it has rolled back but has still updated the database somehow (even though that's where it failed on). Have you been able to redeploy even though the "rollback in progress" status is still on?
-
You should be able to deploy the update again and it should detect that Summer database version is the only database version present. Just deploy the SIMS 2012 Autumn update and not the SIMS Database 2012 Autumn. SIMS 2012 Autumn updates the database first anyway. If an update only is half successful on SOLUS3, u just deploy the update again. You can redeploy the update in Deployment History so that it skips the database (if that's the only bit that has updated) and does the rest as its supposed to in the first place. To increase the timeout have a look in System Settings and the Deployment tab.

Nah, they will just put in some quantum self-charging AI controlled locomotive and cut people out altogether. On the plus side it did snow again here XD

Where can this tool be got? I usually have to type in SQL commands into SQL Server Management Studio to fix problems like that.

22,000 schools in 18 months isn’t that long, that’s over 40 schools a day!! I doubt you’ll get the same response if you leave it to the last few months.

Yes. Capita are going to stop supporting SOLUS2 after the Spring 2014 update. Got confirmation from Capita as well about this.
-
What about your LA?
-
Have you tried contacting Capita? I think this might be a patch jobee.

[sims] SIMS Deployment Crossroads - SOLUS3 or RemoteApp
Ghostgame replied to mobybrick's topic in MIS Systems
Unfortunatly not. Thats one of the things we are trying to get Capita to add for SOLUS3. What we tell people is that when the solus3 notification appears to log out of SIMS/FMS There was a change request that could be voted for but I don't know where thats gone. -
[sims] SIMS Deployment Crossroads - SOLUS3 or RemoteApp
Ghostgame replied to mobybrick's topic in MIS Systems
Ok, into the fray i go. Shouldn't be as problematic as you think. The UI installs on the server. You then install an agent on each of your workstations. You can download updates but you get to choose when you deploy them out. When you deploy an update, any offline agents that come online should update automatically. Because of the agents installed on your workstations you can see which ones have and have not updated. For the ones that have not automatically updated for whatever reason you can redeploy the update to those specific workstations. I can't promise you will be problem free but I doubt it will be as bad as it has been made out. Depends what you mean. Does it do everything it says on the tin? - yes Does it do it with no problems? - depends on if your network has no problems and you don't mind sorting out the teething problems that come with it (e.g firewall port exceptions) What I will say is when SOLUS3 works, it works really well. When it does not, it can be a pain. -
This is what Capita say when I had a look. Don't know if it will be helpful. Or because its full year this might help as well

Here is the new date... hopefully **** Revised date for Autumn 2012 Release ******* 07/11/2012 Update The SIMS 2012 Autumn release will now be released before COB on Friday the 16th of November, which will allow us to complete our Deployment and User Acceptance testing. I apologise for any inconvenience that this delay might have caused you. Regards, Jonathan Wood SIMS Product Manager (Technical and Releases)

Got it yesterday. Couldn't play it as long as i wiould have liked, 343... gotta hand it to then. Master Chief looks amazing, graphics are an improvement on reach, the UNSC weaponry really sounds great.... i could go on. Music even is great. The story though has had a massive amount of work and has really pulled me in. Have not had a go on the multiplayer yet either, but so far a great game.

Best advice I ever got was: "If you want it to remain private, don't tell anyone" Which is what elsiegee40 said. XD Never got why people put stuff on Facebook and then wonder why everyone knows about it.

Well... I suppose its better than Capita releasing the update, withdrawing it and then re-releasing it. **** Revised date for Autumn 2012 Release ******* SIMS 2012 Autumn Release Delay Following additional extensive testing of the SIMS Autumn 2012 release, we have found issues in our final release candidate. In order to accommodate the time to fix the issues and complete a new round of regression and deployment testing we will need to revise our release date, which I will communicate to you on Wednesday 7th November. I apologise for any inconvenience this delay may have caused and appreciate your patience. Regards, Nick Finnemore Head of Product Management

Bit surprised there's not a thread up. So who's thinking that it might be worse than what Bungie has done? Do we think that Spartan ops might be a bit of a gimmick? Who's look forward to lazing people in the face? Reviews on Kotaku (if anyone's interested)

If you have SOLUS3 u can ask your LA to authorise it.
