Something Is Preventing Bertha From Tunnelling Under Seattle

I was disappointed to discover the mystery blockage was a pipe (although better than a pipe having a mystery blockage i suppose) -
There will be a youtube video of someone doing it I've no doubt. Might easy your fears or at least warn if you if its not an option and they've done something like glued it to the ram chips!

Just removing the stock heatsink, cleaning and applying a thin (rather than the wedge the seem to come with) layer of paste before replacing it usually sorts out any heat problems I have with mine.

Yay!!! Loved Dawn of War2 (I can't remember Dawn of War but I probably enjoyed that too)

What is more relevant - Anti-virus or anti-malware software?

Yes - I tend to think of it this way as well -
Isn't SCCM Current Branch what would have been SCCM 2016? Or are you thinking that on server 2016 it will gain some functionality?

I have swapped bigger disks into a raid array before (raid5 though not a raid0+1) and different speed disks (that was with raid 1). It should work as long as your controller is happy with 2TB disks - you should do the backup and everything first though -
I know we moved back to printer script because of the slower logins with gpp but we did notice it was a bit faster if create was changed to update (that might have been the other way around - this is me remembering from two years ago). I was talking about it adding 30 seconds or so to login time though your problem seem a bit bigger than ours so that may not help noticeably. You might want to check dns (both primary and secondary) is accurate for your dcs and print server or just delete and recreate the gpp that adds the printers.

As it's your (only?) ad server I'd probably opt for the bare metal restore but as it appears to be your only server I'm guessing you might not have that as an option. Take a file backup and system state backup to hand as well incase you do need to go the route of installing the OS first. You might want to familiarise yourself with backing up and authoritatively restoring active directory though if you can't do a bare metal restore -
Who Uses YouTube EDU (i.e. YouTube For Schools)?
Sagima replied to Fazza's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
We used it for about a term and then packed it and went with commentless, filtered, normal youtube. Everyone was happier. I don't think we really gave it a chance -
Youtube - Who has access to it?

Staff and Sixth Form -
We try and replace 1/7th of our switches every year (usually 6-8). That turns out to be a real pita for configuring them as it invariably means we end up with 3-4 different models of switch in the network. If I could I would replace them all at once and then again every 7-8 years to allow for end of product support/easy replacements/new technologies

If you have email filtering that isn't done by microsoft/google/smoothwall could you let me know who it is by and if it's any good?
-
I think (though I haven't done it) that SCCM can do that directly if you have it. Also you can pxe boot a hyperv vm if you have any other services for deploying images (that's how I do it with sccm)

We are looking at the same thing and also limiting the number of switches we have dotted around the place. We have in one building 6 switches in different areas which we are condensing to 3 (1 24port poe, 2 non-poe 48 port switches and a little rack ups.) Looking at this cabinet Velocity Wall Box 600mm Deep 6U Black

Surely just point your friendly DT tech at that webpage and get them to knock something together for you?

It's actually supposed to be the size of the 32 largest files on your file server (and mine isn't even that it's the size of the 2 largest - which were .wim files). It sticks copies of the files currently being replicated in the hidden System Volume information folder (which from now on will be much larger). NTFS permissions get migrated but shares don't - is that what you mean when you say you have to set the permission again?

I emailed them I think but yes you have to contact them in some fashion

Can't say I've ever timed it - I've just always found when doing it in the afternoon its updated by the following day. There's probably a couple of different internet spf checker you can use to see if it has updated in other places.
-
I didn't think internet DNS updated that quickly
-
Well hopefully that will sort it out
-
My first thing to check would be that your SPF record is set up correctly and hasn't changed from what it should be
