If it's on option go for it- I don't think it's worth much effort to get it though. It's just the convenience of faster internet access

I have witcher 3 on it - cheapest way to get it. It's strange the internal struggle I have at buying games on gog that have trading cards on steam even if it would be much cheaper to just buy a booster pack for it almost everytime. Even though I don't really care about them I feel as if I'm missing out

The outdoors is too sunny, windy, wet, dry, dark, hot or cold at any one time. My window lets in enough of it

Usually about 1-2 hours a night weekdays and about 10-14 hours over the weekend

Every time I've gone back to an old (I'm setting this in the 80s-90s) game I've been disappointed - somehow it just isn't as fun anymore. Examples of disappointment from the last 2 years: Bards Tale 1, Frontier:Elite 2, Bloodnet, Pool of Radiance and The Settlers I pin my hopes on modern remakes/continuations of them now - come on bards tale 4!

Not a lot to go on but my first guess will be this is some huge spreadsheet which 32bit excel won't open but 64bit might (its file size might not reflect it's working size) I'm assuming you've tried opening it yourself on both your own and their computer to the same error?

Sounds like a great idea

I signed the three year thing just before they announced this so I don;t have any choice but you may as well do the three year thing and not worry about the price increase until 2019. If you wait until 2018 and then do a 3 year one you won't be saving as much as you might think as the price increase is incremental and not all at once so you'll only save yourself the last part of the increase (for those three years)

We sent it out to student machines first, then some teaching staff and we are just starting on the non-teaching staff. We are probably just about half way through. The vast majority of machines will have it by the end of the summer. The only issue we had was it Chrome was set as the default browser then internet shortcuts would't open up properly - still investigating that.

Maybe if he kept the mask on it might have worked better and just had a decent voice over actor for the speaking parts. I seem to recall they managed to create an excellent villain that way before

Watched Star Wars 7 on the plane at the weekend. Really enjoyed it - the only thing i didn't like about is was Kylo Ren and I'm not sure if it's the actor, the character or just that he's not darth vader but that was literally the only bit of it I didn't think was brilliant. I have watched a lot of terrible films recently though so it may just be relief at watching something so entertaining. Having caught up on reading this threads films since I've been gone I'll mention that I agree with galway that The Big Lebowski, which may not be the worst film ever, is the worst film I have ever sat through (and I watched the first Independence Day movie)

I don't think this would affect anyone who syncs their ad passwords or uses adfs as they would only see your hash at login - long after after ad has ok'd the change so presumably it's for people who don't? I may be wrong - i've taken a lot of medication and caffeine to get through today

Anyone got a tidy staff share? Whats your structure?
Sagima replied to DCUK6's topic in General Chat
We have started (about 2 years into it now) to tidy things up from the way they were/are. We now employ a directory of department names (both academic and non-academic) and below that we help them structure in the way that is best for them. Some prefer to group things by year, some by types of files video/pics/docs and some by subject. Permission limits non-department members from anything greater than read only as most departments don't like sharing - quite often they don't even want to allow that. It is definitely better than what we had before which was a single shared directory everyone put seemingly randomly named stuff into -
We've been contemplating moving some of our email services to O365 but what is holding us back is that with onsite email we have had exactly 0 issues in the past two years and only 1 in the two years before that but I log into the O365 admin page almost everyday and almost everyday (probably 29 out of 30 times) exchange is shown as being in a degraded state. They don't seem to be catastrophic but for most of last week there seemed to be an issue with ios meeting updates and the week before that a problem with exporting mailboxes and the week before that it was something else. I honestly don't think I've seen the exchange service in the green working perfectly state more than half a dozen times in the past year. My manager says it would be embarrassing to have our systems alert ticker bar on our signage everyday just to explain what is wrong with email that week when currently it is almost never employed for anything. Most of the problems don't apear to be showstopping but for those of you that use it are there niggly problems really that often using the service?

Nagios for alerts and Cacti for showing the network traffic/connections and stuff

Getting rid of the Action Center? (Alternately, disabling swipe gestures)
Sagima replied to Garacesh's topic in Windows 10
But it does exist in local policy so presumably finding out what registry key that sets wouldn't be impossible? Or even making an adm(x) from it (I've never made my own so i'm not sure) -
Terminator Genisys was our weekend film. Better than the last two terminator films but not as good as the first two. I did like having arnie in it although the explanation as to how he ended up knocking about in the 70s would have been nice to know (presumably the next film). I also liked having the references from the first two films in it - at one stage, when arnie showed up, my husband was worried it was going to turn into somethign similar back to the future with multiple copies of everyone running around - he finds that quite confusing but thankfully (for him) not. I didn't like having Daenerys and Doctor Who (who would have ever thought they'd be good in a terminator film - it turns out they aren't so big surprise there) in it and the bloke playing JC was just terrible (I mean they could have cast david schwimmer but i'm struggling to think of many people worse and I'm including madonna playing "joan" connor as an option) Kyle on the other hand was surprisingly good considering how well he "acted" in die hard - my suspicion is someone else cast him and the guys playing the terminators. There must have been literally dozens of people they could of picked to play sarah more effectively - I might say drawing a woman's name randomly from a hat and finding the actress who happened to have that name might have worked better. Still enjoyable but they could have put some effort into the casting

I have the basic qualification. I thought the course was really good. I had everyone on my team go on it afterwards (even my boss at the time).

It's only helped me once as well. Fixed my sccm server last year when it didn't come back from a reboot. Probably used it 100-200 times before that it actually did something to help me.
