  1. Dont disagree with your sentiments and views. Just looking for a DfE policy document, guidance etc. Now where is BECTA when you need them.
  2. Would be interested to hear people's views on whether Safeguarding data must be kept on paper and not electronically. Lots of conflicting advice and seems a similar situation to when electronic registration was introduced to replace the old /\/\/\/\ marks in books.
  3. Dear J, there is a routine in SIMS to batch import pupil images. The image has to be named with the pupils 6 digit admission number. Staff will need to be uploaded individually. Regards David
  4. Enjay - I can confirm the problem is related to the Sharescan method for licence management rather than in the SIMS business objects so there is a good chance other vendors will not be affected.
  5. Seb if you can let me know who the photographer might be and your school name I can better advise you.
  6. What might be very helpful is if Seb1780 could better define the comment on "seeing the neighbours kids". How much of the childs record can they see ?
  7. Further to Phil's post Capita is working with Microsoft on bringing these new innovations to schools in potential school pilots over this summer and into the next academic year. As soon as we have something to report with Apple and Google I will post again.
  8. Have you tried the partner team at Capita? See Types of partners | capita-sims.co.uk | Capita SIMS. You will need to advise whether you are a school, academy or other specified body to get the most appropriate advice.
  9. Hi Mark - if the images are named with the UPN you may have problems as it should be the 6 digit admission number. if you can't see the batch import route it could be you are logged into SIMS without the correct permissions. One final point who is your photographer ? regards David
  10. Siv please email me at [email protected] and will try and clarify your options.
  11. if you email me [email protected] with your specific requirements I will see what we can do to help.
  12. gents - currently out of office but will make this my highest priority when I get back on Thursday.
  13. Matt - what format is the pupil image you are trying to upload ?
  14. Losojos as Vik advises please log a case as usual and ask for it to be reviewed by Andy McGowan. if you don't make any progress feel free to conatct me again.
  15. Some great suggestions above. Some from me A user running a scheduled task must have logon as batch privileges. The user running the task must have permissions to access both the location of SIMS and the associated files referenced in the call. Any reliance on mapped drives are unwise because a scheduled task may or may not complete the login script before it fires the task. Good luck.
  16. We are happy to confirm that IDxtra are a SIMS Technical partner and have recently accredited the Eventmarker SIMS interface so schools should be reassured in the way the product works with SIMS.
  17. If memory serves me correctly this sounds like the OMR is not detecting the correct number of timing marks on the OMR sheet. These marks are the black lines running vertically down ths side of the OMR sheet. Assuming you are feeding the sheet correctly face down and these marks on teh bottom ? Has anyone written above or below the marks ? Does feeding a different OMR form give a different error ? That said Andy Mc may know more than I.
  18. Greed - Phil is having a well earned holiday so there may be a slight delay in him responding.
  19. Eddy - can you just clarify where the error message occurs as I doubt it can be on the OMR display ?
  20. Thats good news Synaesthesia. Our partners, HCSS, have a guidance document that resolves the issue. The problem you had relates to both VISTA and Windows 7. HCSS are aware that the issue may affect users of FPSadvance.Net (V5 or earlier) and users of FPSacademy.Net ( V7). Schools with FPSadvance.Net (V6 and beyond) will not experience this issue. Users of the Web version will not experience the issue. HCSS are working hard to migrate all Academy users from the desktop to web platform. Regards
  21. Enjay if you are happy to PM me with your contact details and who supplies your managed print solution I will get one of my Capita colleagues to provide some advice direct to you.
  22. Matt, please do keep in touch and thank you for keeping my team on their toes.
  23. Thanks to Vik and others for the guidance offered. Our challenge remains differentiating requests from customers (SIMS users) and others.
  24. Thanks Phil. Zag my email address is slightly different to the one quoted [email protected]. However please note I am out of the office until April 10th but will repsond earlier if at all possible.
  25. Losojos - you may have assumed that all the images are named with the pupils six character admission number - if this is not the case then the images will not batch import and will require manual matching.
