  1. Brilliant. Thank you.
  2. So my RSS feed for one forum is http://www.edugeek.net/external.php?type=RSS2&forumids=49 How do I discover the id for other forums I wish to follow ? Thank you. And yes RSS is still of value to me ;-)
  3. Thanks Vik. Happy to confirm there is no data breech.
  4. Live Register is a fully SIMS integrated self -registration system for both AM/PM and lesson attendance. Schools can use a method of registration which works best for them or indeed a combination of RFID card, biometric or PIN. If you want to learn more then your Capita account manager will be able to help you with a solution which will top up SIMS and is tailored to your situation.
  5. From their website - Write Back with SIMS Integration View Features Messaging - Email, SMS & Push notifications Take Registers View Timetables Assessment: Update Marksheets/ Profiles Classroom Seating Planner SIMS Data Collection Sheets View Cashless Catering Balances/ Transactions View Attendance - Lesson/ Statutory Review Exams Timetable & Results Record & View Achievement/ Behaviour Lookup Contacts Access Documents View Medical Information Review Calendar Add / Edit / View Homework MIS integration with SIMS (other systems being added) Gateway to 3rd party web services with Single Sign-On Multiple authentication sources incl. LDAP Watch EduLink One Overview Video Below Take Registers Members of staff can quickly and easily take class registers and have the register written directly back to SIMS. The system supports both statutory and lesson level attendance and also offers support for cover supervisors. The register interface allows for the adding of behaviour and achievement, as well as easy identification of students who have detentions or are "On-Report". Complete Assessment Marksheets Assessment marksheets can be completed by members of staff outside school as well as within school. Since completing marksheets can be a rather lengthy process, marksheets can be easily saved, so that in the event of a failure, a partially complete marksheet can be recovered with little or no data loss. Once completed the marksheets are written directly back to SIMS. Record Behaviour & Achievement Behaviour and achievement records can be written directly to SIMS, either on an individual student basis, or for a group of students using bulk behaviour and bulk write back functions. Behaviour and achievement types are taken from SIMS, as are the number of points associated with each.
  6. Cathy, I may be able to help. Please DM me with your school details, your SIMS support provider and any contacts you have at Canvas.
  7. All SIMS schools are sent emails from [email protected] so this needs to be placed in the whitelist if the school has a particularly aggressive spam filter. Very occasionally r2-f2.sda-ltd.com needs to be added as well. SIMS schools should get better pricing from Capita.
  8. Hi Roby feel free to contact me at [email protected] Currently I am unaware of the SIMS online license you refer to in your post so may be able to help further.
  9. Thank you Esteban. Just beat me to it.
  10. Once you have the formative data in assessment manager can't you then calculate the overall grade automatically ?
  11. For Agora read Integra ?
  12. Can you expand a bit more on what this means ?
  13. SAM ( https://www.capita-sims.co.uk/products-and-services/SAM ) is one of our Capita partner products and is an online staff absence management system. It includes an Employee Portal with the functionality for employees to request absence online including annual leave and leave of absence, via a secure login. The request then generates an email that goes to their line manager for consideration. Once the absence request is approved by the manager, the details go straight into SAM’s employee section, which can then write-back directly into SIMS. The platform can also have multiple levels of responsibility set up for the approval process, so if you need to add the deputy head for example you can do so. Finally, at the request stage there is the option for the employee to select if cover is required and a notification can then be sent to the cover manager. Hope this helps.
  14. BETT - After many years of attending the annual Bett show in January, Capita has decided not to exhibit at the event in 2019. We have made this decision because we believe how we need to effectively engage with our customers has changed. This is supported by feedback from our customers and analysis of interactions at the show. Therefore, we are going to invest the time and money we normally put into Bett very differently. Concentrated on more effective ways of engaging with our customers such as more regional events and increased digital content. Whilst we have already started to put some of this in place, we are interested in working with you to understand what digital content you would find most useful and also what types of events we should run/attend with you. We’d appreciate any ideas you have and would like to capture them https://www.capita-sims.co.uk/form/engaging-our-customers . Regards David
  15. Really Vik - that is quite a statement - can you elaborate further ?
  16. How are you importing the images? If by batch import try a manual import and see if there is any difference.
  17. Macit - your email to me this afternoon suggests a different error message to "Photo license key expired" and I have responded to you accordingly. The cause of your error is the license file contains incorrect establishment data. Those who know me will confirm I am here to help, be constructive and not to insult.
  18. Anyone having problems with their file can post details of the error message received, plus a screen shot and the name of the license file provider I will see what I can do to help.
  19. Cam the permissions are managed via SIMS ID, and the aspects, resultsets, templates and mark sheets are created programmatically. Regards.
  20. Hi Simon, feel free to contact me at [email protected] so we can provide you with an update on our partner engagement.
  21. Hi David44. I hope you do get some replies from schools that have achieved SIMS writeback and the feedback you require. If you don't we can put you in touch with some school reference sites. In the meantime we are happy to help you directly. I would recommend you log a case with your LA SIMS support team to let them know what you are planning. They may well ask for a detailed specification signed off by your SLT. I would then suggest you contact my colleague [email protected] with your case number and ask for details about the new SIMS partner ecosystem. If you wish to contact me direct then I am on [email protected]. Good luck.
  22. Anyone wanting more information on SIMS writeback please contact me directly at [email protected]

  25. The product has been purposely designed to be simple and easy to use by staff across the school, as well as their parents and students. In addition to providing schools with a process for setting up activities and gaining responses from parents and students on attendance, schools using SIMS Activities are seeing the following key advantages: 1. Live register, ensures that staff can quickly identify which children are on-site attending activities 2. The creation of a register for an activity provides staff with a simple way to record attendance and also ensure that children are accounted for, supporting safeguarding policies at the school 3. Immediate access to contact and medical records ensures staff have access to essential information helping to ensure the welfare of children attending activities on site and also off site, whether that is an activity or a school trip. 4. The reporting tool, allows schools to analyse which students are attending activities. This ensures that the school is appropriately provision, resourcing well attended activities, or equally identify those activities with lower demand. Schools can also identify which children are attending activities and therefore identify or target specific children to encourage participation in activities. There is a case study at http://www.capita-sims.co.uk/sites/default/files/2017-02/Ecclesfield_WEB_28FEB.pdf If we can do any more to help please PM me. David
