  1. Hi Jimmy_2k yes I did manage to resolve the issue. It was file sync, as soon as I disabled file sync it was all absolutely fine and the laptops are now running much quicker. So basically because everything is redirected with no roaming profile if a user has no internet connection for DA the laptop is useless. The one thing I have tried is roaming profiles with the desktop redirected to the profile. Hopefully that helps you, let me know how you get on.
  2. Iv not tried plugging them in TBH. The desktops work fine but then they never go offsite. I’ll try the reg key and report back. Thanks
  3. Yes, we have also disabled fast boot.
  4. Hi Ricki yes they are logging off and then back on. We have a policy in place so when they close the lid the laptop shuts down. We did this to make sure they shut down properly. Thanks for the reply.
  5. Hi Over the summer I have implemented Direct Access for staff laptops. I have also configured offline files as everything is redirected. The server is server 2016 and the laptops are windows 10 1803 When the laptops are off-site DA works perfect and so does offline files. The issue is when the users come back to school they don’t seem to have access to shared drive which are being mapped by group policy. The drives are mapped but when they try to access them it says the location is unavailable. If the user waits 10 mins or so the drives are then accessible. I presume this is when it gets a GP refresh. The only drive I don’t seem to have an issue with is the home drive which is mapped via the users profile. I have used the group policy wait for network before the user can login. I thought it may be taking a while for the wireless to kick in but that hasn’t worked. I have also turned off fast boot as I thought maybe the laptop needs a fresh boot when it comes back to school. That didn’t work. At schools where we don’t have offline files because things aren’t redirected I don’t see this issue. I think it’s something to do with the file sync. I’m hoping someone has come across a similar issue and has managed to resolve it. Thanks Steve
  6. Hi Mark Sorry I don’t have a solution but this is interesting. We have implemented Direct Access at our schools and we are coming across the same issue.
  7. Thank you for all the replys. I have now done it. Thank you Los0jos perfect.
  8. Hello I was wondering does anybody know how to import student photo’s into sims. The school photography company has sent a disk with all the student pictures on; they are all resized and ready to do. Thank you Steve
