Need to reinstall my other website
Devontechie replied to speckytecky's topic in EduGeek Joomla 1.5 Package
Hi Geoff, If you just uplaoded the EduGeek Joomla Package over the top of the files that was on the server, then you wont be able to re-install the site. Like you said, you will need to delete the files from the server and then upload the EduGeek Joomla Package again. If you want any help, you know how to get hold of me. Cheers, Steve -
Yeah you do need to use the wizard and select either Index or Alpha Transparency (as said above). Steve

I've got Google Wave but can't find anyway of inviting people either. If anyone wants to add me to their Google Wave Contacts, feel free to pm me and I will let you have my Google Wave address. Steve

When you export the slices, are you making them GIFs or JPGs? For the images to be transparent they need to be GIF. Steve

£800 for a projector!! Wow! Just found the NEC NP110G for £250 ex VAT. NEC NP110G Steve -
Its refreshing to the same image, so you will not see anything change. You would need to put a different image name in where you have var image = "\\server\Adult Resources\xp11.jpg"; Steve

There is an HTML editor in Joomla that can be used to edit the code. Just click the HTML button on the toolbar when you are editting a page with the Grey Box Gallery in it Steve -

Editing online files without downloading?
Devontechie replied to GenieNitro's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
When I looked at Fronter 18 months ago it wasn't something that could be done. There was 1 product that could do it and I think it was Its Learning from Viglen (but I am not 100% sure about that). Steve -
I've done some basic guides for the school I used to work in but can't share them with you. Sorry. They was just screen prints with some text telling how to do things, e.g. uploading and links resources, setting up assignments, Changing Students Pages (this 1 was for the teachers). If you want any help doing any, let me know and I will see what I can do. Cheers, Steve

Any idea if you can have multiple tutors connected to a client with RRC10? I know you could with an old version. I'm sure that on older version you could just add Shared=1 to the client32.ini file but it doesn't seem to work on Version 10. Thanks, Steve

Yeah I've used AB Tutor before. Also used Range Remote Control and NetOp School. AB Tutor is good because you only need to buy the Tutor license and have to worry about buying a license for the student machines.

Changing pictures in News item with grey Box Gallery
Devontechie replied to speckytecky's topic in EduGeek Joomla 1.5 Package
Geoff, Looking at the HTML on my Demo Site of the EduGeek Joomla, the pictures are stored in images/stories/gallery In there you have 1.jpg and 1_thumb.jpg; 2.jpg and 2_thumb.jpg; and 3.jpg and 3_thumb.jpg. If you add the images to the Gallery folder and make a thumbnail of them, you could be able to change the HTML code to the file names that you have used. Looking at the thumbnails, they are 160x85. Hope that helps, Steve -
Yes, all files in all folders are 644. Steve

Hi Gareth, On my setup of the EduGeek Joomla Project (which is only a demo site) all the directories are set to 755. Cheers, Steve

Contact Us link not working properly
Devontechie replied to speckytecky's topic in EduGeek Joomla 1.5 Package
Is the site hosted by SWGfL? Or somewhere else? I've got a feeling that in the PHP.ini file there is a mail setting that needs to be enabled. Sometimes this can be done by putting a custom PHP.ini file in the folder for Joomla (I had to do that the other day to get Moodle to run on my hosting). Cheers, Steve -

Geoff, This is a screen print of my PHP Mail Settings. Guessing from what you have said yours looks like this. Steve -
Site looks good I see what is meant by the slide show loading times. It can take a few seconds after the page loads before it comes up and when you are reading something on the page it can be annoying! Steve

Training - any recommendations?
Devontechie replied to speckytecky's topic in EduGeek Joomla 1.5 Package
yeah I agree, best way to learn is to have a play around with a test setup. I've got a few test setups running that I have let people play around with. Could always play around with 1 that I have set up if you want. Drop me an PM if you want. That goes for anyone. Steve -
