You don't need an air duster just blow them out. They are only thin. I wouldn't wash them. You could wipe over the lens with a dry lint free cloth if it looks dusty or smeared.

Can't you set your machine up as dual boot or do you just want rid of Vista?

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to my little dilema. The printer has now been reconnected. As a little extra note, I found that although I reassigned a static IP and reserved it, the printer didn't change until I manually assigned it via the web page using the DHCP assigned IP address.:-)
-
It did have a valid IP also reserved but when I checked it wasn't on that IP but on a DHCP allocated address. Which would explain why I couldn't ping the reserved address. I have reassigned the reserved address but still can't ping it.

I have a printer, which was working fine earlier but has now diconnected itself somehow. It can be seen on the network but when you try to print to it, it just hangs then says unable to connect. You then get a message saying 'The print spooler was unable to connect to the printer.' Then lists a couple of reasons, none of which are the cause. Has anyone had a similar experience? The printer is a HP2605dn.

Synack you're a genius. I stopped Routing and remote access and I could ping it straight away. A big thankyou to everyone else who offered advice. It is much appreciated and good to know that I have such a wealth of knowledge on hand to help.
-
Also it didn't ping properly when I used the IP address
-
Tried same IP on both NICs but only actually using one anyway. Routing and remote access is running. Appears to be starting automatically. No third party firewall, no new software added or removed. Haven't tried the Net Stop yet.
-
Subnet OK. DNS Servers added when IP allocated. Server appears in DNS lookup. Tried to check Firewall but got the following message so I am assuming that it is off. "Windows Firewall cannot run because another program or service is running that might use the network address tranlation component (Ipnat.sys)" Ping by IP address. No duplicate IP.

I have a problem with one of my servers. For some reason it can't be seen by the rest of the network. You cannot ping it although 'it' can ping any other computer. It can also see all other computers on the network. This was working fine on Friday. It has dual NIC's and I have tried via both of them. I rejoined the network letting DHCP assign an IP and it could be seen then. But as soon a you put the dedicated IP back it lets you rejoin the network but you can't see it again. Does this make any sense to anyone? If so can you help me please.

Looks like a nice bike. Never been a great lover of trail/off road style bikes but always been a fan of Hondas. 4 of the 8 bikes i've owned have been Hondas and none of them gave any trouble.:-)

Go for it and good luck to you both. I've had a couple of mates go out there and they love it. Doing well for themselves too.

All that Superfletch is great but as with most teachers the shutters will be down before you finish the first sentence. Whenever I've tried to explain something to a teacher you can see them switch off. They only seem interested in their own subject or anything to do with teaching. It seems a rather insular llife really.

Does anyone know if it is possible to play an Imovie project in windows. Is there a viewer available. I thought that Quicktime would play them but it will only play parts rather than the whole project.

Hi all other old farts. I only just qualify, I'm 37 and 132 months.

Tapeware is quite a good little program:-)

You are right, it is a private school. They are looking for a teacher with some hands on experience to assist with some of the technical work when not teaching.:-)

Does anyone know of or have a utility that will perform a batch shutdown. Similar to WOL but the other way. I've looked around at a few utilities but these have been more manual. We have Classlink here but I'm new to this product so don't know the workings of it yet. I have sent Viglen a few emails to ask if this is possible but had no response. A distinct lack of manuals online or otherwise. I just want to schedule a couple of little batch jobs to shutdown different areas at different times. Can anyone help please?

Try speaking to this Guy and his team. Mark Bonnamy CISCO CCSP, CISS, CCNA, CCDA #CSCO10077329 Cisco Routing & Switching Sales Specialist Cisco Security Solutions Design Specialist Cisco Security Sales Specialist Chase Morran Plc 16 Anning Street London EC2A 3HB Reg No 3222702 Tel: 020 7749 4321 Fax: 020 7749 4322 I know that Cisco is probably a bit prohibitive but they quoted us for some wireless and hard wired network solutions and they beat all other quotes. But that's not what you were asking. He also sent me this below. ---------- A couple of other things that maybe be of interest in the future 1/ We offer a sophisticated web filtering solution http://www.marshal.com/products/webmarshal/index.asp 2/ 24Mb Broadband is now available, you can buy this direct from http://www.bethere.co.uk it has proved to be a very good service, the service has zero contention and the base cost is £22 per month. --------- Hope this helps :-) -
Hi all Has anyone ever heard of or used Scorpio Computer supplies for the replacement cartridges? Just wondered what they were like, seeing as how their quotes were coming in fairly resonable.

I had a new sound system put in at my old school. Got a company called Music Village to do it. Quote came in miles below anyone else and good quality equipment. Good job of installing it as well. Don't know much about the lighting I'm afraid.

I have a problem projecting video clips onto a whiteboard (although it could be any surface). I have a Fujitsu laptop (fairly new but have tried with other laptops too) and a Sanyo projector (also fairly new). I can get the dual image working and show anything apart from video clips on both. I have tried Windows Media player, Powerdvd, VLC, Real player, Quicktime, DivX etc. All produce the window on both screens but only the laptop shows the film. If I switch the image over to projector only then the film shows but as soon as you switch back to both it disappears from the window. I have updated codecs galore but to no avail. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

Wow That was quick Thanks for the quick response. This looks like what I need.
