Hi. Ive got an old laptop here that we've managed to bring back to life. Its nout fancy, P4/265Mb/20Gb/1024 screen/etc; Any ideas what we can use it for?

Im wondering how much of a performance difference there is for moving to SQL, as its pretty fast how it is? My only problem with the program, is how the 'menu shortcuts' are at the bottom of each page meaning i have to scroll down to get to them on problem reports (would prefer at top). And how certain fields are mandatory when i dont want/need them to be. And the ability to remove problems completely without editing it out of the Db manually would be good as well. But despite all that, im still very pleased with it..

How do you mean? Where IIS thinks the home directory for MLSM is? Its located at C:\inetpub\wwwroot\MLSM\ I'd have had it in wwwroot itself, but it would have over-written other files that i have there for other IIS apps.

Parent paths are on. I changed the paths to c:\inetpub\wwwroot\MLSM\data\netmon.db and now no pages come up at all?

No luck whatsoever here. Ive got it set to run on "http://server:5200" When i goto that address, it says checking servers for about 5 minutes, then i get a timeout error. But i cant goto the /admin/ page, keeps coming up with 'this website cannot display the page' errors in IE. Basically the same as what i was getting in v1.1. Any ideas?

Good to know that, could see a use for that in the future. I think im gonna run with this IIS one though, looks fancyier. Will do. .

OK. Can anyone help with this? Ive given it a ananomous account that SSPR uses for password changes, which is near to domain admin access. Ive set the directory that the MLSM is in to have that login as full access. Ive disabled AD auth in IIS and set the 'enable parent paths'. But the main page for the site just spends ages on 'checking servers'. and the admin page doesnt display at all!? Ideas?

Dont have a PHP server. Just trying to get 'my little server monitor' working. Nout but problems thus far.

Do i wack all that code into a specific type of file? As for the life of me i cant get it to work in a HTML file, i asume its a php based one and thus needs to be on a PHP server?

Do you have an email server? From what i gathered a while back, if the user has the relevent access to send/recieve emails, then the only thing preventing Librium from not sending mail, is incorrect server settings in its config? Have you searched the Librium forums?

ssshhhh! lol. We wont tell them that. . The thing to remember is that although its 63dBa now. Its only gonna get worse, as we have a big network upgrade due this year, which means a 2-3x increase in the hardware thats in this room.

Already took readings. Average noise level is 63dBa!!! Ive given him a typed up document, outlining why we want it, why this current room doesnt meet H&S, and outlining other possible locations and their advantages and disadvantages.

Hi. Let me quickly paint a picture for you: At the moment, all the servers and the core cab, and a LEA broadband cab sits in the same room as what my 'office is'. Whilst its nice and cool because its air conditioned, it doesnt really meet H&S in other areas. Namely noise. This is only gonna get made worse if/when the new network upgrade goes ahead. An office is going free for the next year that i wouldnt mind moving into, but aparentely other members of staff have asked about as well. Could some of you help me compose a short document that i can give to the head as to why i should get the room? Unusual request i know. Thanks.

Didnt manage to do that. But managed to install it regardless. Any idea how i can hide the box the pops up top right? Ive got it disabled on the curric, but the admin it still appears. Its odd, because if your part of a certain group that requires pin code access on curric, the box top right disappears. But on this new admin setup, it doesnt? Ideas?

Hi. Im thinking of wacking papercut on our admin network as well as our curriculum network. As i didnt install it on our curric (before i started), im a little unsure as to how to install it on the admin network. Is it literally just a case of installing it and configuring the groups/printers and it does the rest in regards to clients? or is there more too it than that? Thanks.

We've had a problem along the same sort of lines here. Although not quite as severe. We had our power go off (intentionally) over the last half term, since then, nothing but problems all over the place! .

That'd be worth knowing for me as well. That way i can see what parts of the network/s are being limited by the uplinks, and where the bottlenecks are.

I think its a file properties thing tbh. As the pupils, unknown to me prior to now, cant access file properties. No biddy that though, as theres nothing there that the kids need anyway, this way, they cant abuse it either.

Do i need the client though? Im gonna DL and stick it on my storage area anyway, but am i gonna need it if the workstations have picked up the correct tab anyway?
