Oh ok. Well ive booted my first Netbook onto the domain and its logged in nicely but obviously there are bits i need to sort out/lock down in windows 7. Start Menu hasnt redirected, and My docs is there but its surrounded by the "Libraries" so i've got some tidying to do. Gonna check the Geek but any guides anyone recommends?

Just found this which i didnt the first time round.. Download: ADMX Migrator - Microsoft Download Center - Download Details guessing it will do the job, anything i need to know as a newbie?

Is there an easy way of doing this? I've got a set of netbooks that are running of a 2008 server here at hogwarts but my DC is 2003. I've seen there are some convertors available, do they actually work or is it a case of me going through them all?!

lol. not complaining, just tickled me. I think the canteen has an abundance of cheese. Captured using WDS...not sure which way round i used the captured image. Will pay more attention this time.

That is pretty much what i did. My first issue was it was asking me about partitions but i fixed that by messing with the customsettings but then goodness knows what i did the next time round as it failed with loads of errors. I shall have another ago, is it just the standard task squence i use?

Ok, ive gone back a few steps. I have my Windows 7 operating system with software/updates captured and waiting in my WDS console (well im working on it at the moment, but this is how far i can get without issue). How do you do the next stage? i.e deploying finished OS to multiple machines. My first attempt ended horribly with multiple errors, too many to Google lol! Can i see your customsettings or task sequence please? Thanks...

Ready?... Ok, imported base OS to deploy to Netbooks, injected drivers. Deployed to Netbook...noticed that i had forgotten to add the display drivers - doh. Went back, added driver, updated package, redeployed, worked great. installed software needed and updates, happy with how it was, captured it....deployed to netbook, no dsiplay driver!!! What happened?

Anyone else notice it doesn't go past 99? My friend and I have been on it for ages!

Does it take a while? It's flicking through them slowly, but its taking a while...is that normal? This is my first time so dont know what to expect...

The Business Manager and Head have become concerned about data protection. Target Tracker has started this because its become a cloud based system. This does have the possibility of hold sensitive information such as LAC children etc so we are chasing that. They've questioned others such as WriteOnline, MyMaths and Abacus iPlanner. As i set the users up i know that MyMaths only has Childrens names, WriteOnline does have childrens DOB's. Abacus im not sure what it requires but theres nothing there at the moment. What are your guys feelings/recommendations...

Right im still trying to get my head around the whole MDT thing. I bought a volume license (i dunno if thats the terminology) for the 20 netbooks i need to put win7 pro on, so thats fine. Obviously im going to be buying a shed load of new pc's for the junior site. I completely forgot about the fact that these are all going to be OEM licenses. Is it possible/allowed to use MDT with OEM licenses? Do i just get the new pc's added to the volume license for those machines or buy new one if not possible?! ARGH!
