I have been thinking about backing this as well to be honest, they are very similar I think galago has a better processor, Not too sure if galago can Replicate a HID though? Bonus for me is you can use the Arduino IDE with teensy, oh who am I kidding I want them all, my names Ian and im a microcontroller addict, phew that feels better ;-) (off to buy a galago)

Oh Damn I liked the look of the Digispark! I love kickstarter shame it is only for US citizens at the moment, hopefully they will let the UK enter some projects soon... I have backed the Pebble, hopefully recieving at the end of this month and also Teensy 3.0 which looks pretty cool. it does start to get a little addictive

would a vbs script do the job, something like; Set fso = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") fso.CopyFile "\\UNC_Path\File", "Dest_File",TRUE

There has been a lot of discussion about what class is better on the Raspi forum Here, and how SD cards would work a little different with the Raspi than say a camera etc. It looks as if most of the recomended cards are Class 4 at the moment RPi VerifiedPeripherals - eLinux.org. It will be interesting to see if people get class 10 to work and if it is any faster.

We have used AB Tutor here for about 3 years now and have been very happy with it and its features, it is also cheap if you only want a few users to have access to it

Thank you @Los0Jos for including me and bringing the Raspi over to my office, all I can say is thank god we had a seat and a spare 45mins... it was a tad bit slow Still very impressive though and I am very much looking forward to mine being delivered! Shame we didnt have time to test the 1080p demo

I am assuming that I would need another arduino/microcontroller on the button side as well? + power source Would be cool but I may stick with the software as its really to show the kids what you can do with Python etc, also it works a treat

Our Backup Policy is: We use Backup Exec Students and Staff full backup Friday every week to a NAS Differential backups Mon-Thurs to NAS I then transfer the last full backup to tape at the end of the month and this is kept in the safe for a year We also have Weekly SIMS full backups, Daily Diff and some random weekly resources that are also archived every month on tape

Thanks Ben Funny you should say that, it was originaly going to have some buttons on the wall with 'come in' 'go away' etc on them but when I came to put the LCD together with the Arduino I would of had to run long cables to where we sit. And more importantly it would of had to be on the wall out the way which would mean if we wanted to press the button we would have to... get up out of our nice comfy seat to reach the buttons perish the thought It also opened it up so we could have it running on each techies own work area making everyone feel special, I do agree though it would be nice to have some physical buttons, maybe when I have a spare few hours

that was V0.01 for me too! I did however have a few bugs with the paper to blu-tack interface and over time the structural integrity of the sign did get compromised, I do wish I had thought of upgrading to laminate!

I woke up this morning, looked out the window, the sun hit my face and put me in a bit of a sharing kind of mood! I suppose a little bit of self promotion mood as well sorry So here goes. Over the past few weeks I have setup and installed an LCD Display on our Techies office door after having it changed to some sort of sound proofed lead lined door that the pupils could not here us shouting come in at all! I also had another reason as you will read (more of an excuse to play really) I have wrote up a quick overview if you are interested with some pictures here kism3t1: My Work and all code is available at the bottom of the page for anyone wanting a look. It might be a nice addition to your office? It is controllable over the network with a simple python server/client app (The IP and ports are hardcoded im afraid) I had to keep it simple for the pupils, plus im a bit simple We really do use this everyday and thought it might be nice to share with everyone, so hope you like it.
