How long does it take for the clients to propagate the KMS client count? Theres definately more then 25 machines on now but its still stuck on 20...

I have 23 of one of the models. Seem to have gone down well. Also, as i mentioned in another post, the only problem we have had is when a bright beam of sunlight hit the board we were projecting on and it sent it haywire. Guess it all works using Infra red.

No, it maps everything else ok, just that share! So bizarre! Last thing I did was install SIMS. Rebooted and from then on has refused to map that drive.

I have one win7 client that has suddenly decided it can no longer access the share containing the redirected desktop. It worked happily before and is the only machine with the problem. What would cause that?

Hey guys, Our school is looking more into marketing ourselves in the next academic year, even going as far as to hire someone to do it for 4 hours a week. I know they are going to focus on the website and to be honest with our current one I've created a monster. I cant pass it don't to anyone else as it has its quirks which are hard to explain to n00bs and some parts are really convoluted. I would be over the moon if i didnt have to deal with the website any more (as much as i hate giving things like this away) so i'm starting to think that i will spend the holidays redesigning it. So which are websites going these days? Which would be the best way to create a website that i can then just dump on someone else who want be massively techical? I know people mentioned wordpress a lot. Are there any templates available?

Ok, I think i've missed a step here...or the step no longer exists in 2008. In 2003 you could see what computers were on as such by looking in Network Places under the Domain but i cant seem to do that in 2k8. I've turned Computer Browsing on and can now see staff laptops so can see workgroup machines but no domain ones. Can i still do this, found it helpful to see which machines may be on as at the moment im still fighting my KMS and trying to will the count to go over 20! EDIT: Thinking about it, i cant see the new Win 7 machines in 2k3 either... Thanks

Oh the pens are fine after they have got used to them. We've only had one break and that was probably after being man handled by a five year old. They managed to pull the nib off somehow.

I have two different models of the epson interactive projectors. Single and dual use. Love em so far. Only issue I've had is when a bright sun beam hit the board it sends it crazy. Ive been using slightly glossy board in the infants in the hope that they could also write on them. I guessed this didn't help the matter do have matte boards in juniors. Not had an issue yet....but then there's been no sun!

Yep, i realise this. My collegue who will be managing the overall assest register would like something a little more robust then just a sticky label you stick in an laser printer (im not saying thats out of the question as i think any label would be picked off eventually). I was wondering whether there was something out there that printed something that would last a little longer, something more plasticy?! I dunno, just guessing here.

Hey, As you can imagine, we've learnt a lot from the fire. One thing is a good asset register! I'm not talking just IT, i mean every little bit of furniture! So, i've been looking around for some kit. WASP stuff is way out of our league. We only have a little budget. I've found a company that will do the security bar codes for items like the IT stuff, but these are a little OTT for desks etc. So does anyone do it a certain way at their place or could possible recommend something. Can someone recommend a barcode printer maybe?

See that's the bit that worries me, that we only have Policy Central on our machines (bleugh!) so i wont be able to log devices activites such as tablets etc...

Hey, As the whole BYOD seems to be growing do you guys give your staff any access? I have three wireless VLAN's, one for the Netbooks that uses certs, one for Staff laptops with proxy internet and network access and a guest one which just gives filtered internet access. I've started to have staff come to me asking for their device to be connected to the internet. I'm starting to think about letting them use the guest account and maybe the kids on a friday during their golden time (with some sort of AUP)...i dunno, maybe im being naive. What do you guys do?
