Here Sophos web protection says "Reason: Gambling sites are blocked " after much whining about certificates.

I'm not sure if I posted this before but one of the best stretching resources around is Brad Appleton's Stretching and Flexibility All it needs to improve it are pictures. This is so well known that it is quoted as a reference in several books, eg "Stretching without Pain" by Paul Blakey. IMO the absolute best stretching book (I have several) is "Stretching For Sport" by Bob Smith. Sadly it's long out of print but copies can be had second hand.

You can setup FB as a read only site. -
I'm surprised by that. When I deadlift, I only feel it in my quads and lower back.

The panel has a wide range of different hobbies. There's quite a list here http://www.edugeek.net/forums/general-chat/134040-you-stereotypical-geek.html including sailing, martial arts, ballet, carpentry, etc -
Since pull ups are my absolute favourite exercise, I'll chirp in and give you some tips, which have helped me. Don't grip the bar too hard - you only need to hold tight enough to stay on, not cause cramps in the forearms and hands Look where you're going - sight the bar as you go up Maintain the 'tonic' - squeeze that butt, pull in that stomach, keep the legs tight - it's much easier to lift something that's rigid Work through the full range of motion, from straight arms to the top. Ideally you want your sternum to touch the bar. Don't go from a dead hang. At the bottom you should be able to balance a wine glass on each shoulder. This give you somewhere to go, as sometimes it is easier to go down before you pull up. Mix your sets up. I like to just churn out the reps, but when start to lose ground (like at the mo), I'll do 1 pullup, count to 10, do 2 pullups, count to 10, etc until I can't complete the last number. I'll then keep going until I've completed that number and then start my timed rest (75 secs) or go off and do some dips. Since the final rep is the hardest, do that first to get it out of the way and then it all becomes easy

I get my protein from eggs, milk and cheese. I love cheese and the pongier the better! I drink a lot of milk, a litre+ a day. Some people drink pop - I drink milk.

I'm a veggie and I've never felt the need to add quorn or tofu to anything. I've never had a nut cutlet either. I just eat fruit and vegetables. They are plenty of different types and lots of ways to cook them.

Here's a similar video I used to have a screen saver on my Linux box which had many different BSODs. It caught me out once - I was working on SCO boxes at the time and it bought up the SCO crash screen, and I automatically started to debug it.

Which mobile device for students?
unixman_again replied to witch's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
We're trialling these amongst students and staff, which I've listed in order of popularity : Hisense Sero 8-inch Tablet HP 8 G2 Hannspree HannsPad 10.1 inch Tablet hudl 2 Linx 8 inch Tablet The HP's look good but the HiSense have better battery life. The Linx are proving to be very unpopular - they are very slow and Outlook cannot be connected to our email system - I can't remember why, but I think it has to do with proxys. All of our students have Office 365, which seems to work OK on all of the tablets. Of course, none of these are as popular as the iPads which some staff have. We have a class set of iPads too. We're looking to roll out tablets to all students next year, as I suspect we'll be going a mix of the first two. -
I doubt I could do my 80+ chins if I weighed what it says I should be, or may be I could as I'd be lighter. I much prefer these results Fitness calculator - CERG - NTNU

It's not against the law to ride a unicycle on the road. I checked with the police a long time ago and, eventually after a couple of weeks, they contacted me and said it's fine. The interesting bit concerns riding at night. You have to have a red light and reflector to the rear and a white light to the front, except a unicycle doesn't have a front and back.

I used to do Birmingham to Bristol every day but I had company car and petrol. I live just off the M5 and we were at Aztec West. Door to door was 65-70 mins. Many of the locals were taking 40 mins to get to work.

Last Woman on Earth which was surprisingly good. FilmOnTv screened Plan 9 from Outer Space last Saturday evening. I'd forgotten just how funny it is.

We use Hesk which is free; it's OK but not brilliant. It's all we need. The last school I was at used Sysaid. It has a nice feature which we used on the staff laptops. When a used pressed F11, it took them straight to the ticket screen, with their user details pre-populated. I can highly recommend Kayako, if you can afford it. We used it at a mobile phone e-tailer that I worked for and the help desk people loved the knowledge base and search, management loved the reporting and me as sysadmin, loved the support. As far as things go, IMO the Rolls Royce of help desk is Remedy but it's overkill for schools and I doubt a school could afford it. Kayako is probably overkill to.
