I too have letters BAppSc (CS) although I never use them - far too pretentious. That's a Bachelor Applied Science - Computer Studies. I not sure what I can claim for my AIX certification; I don't even know if it's still valid. After spending thousands having one written, it was such a pile of poo (and did nothing) so it was never released. I did ours in Sketch-Up. The site surveyed plans were scanned as a PDF and then imported and I built the 3D model. This might seem overkill, but the plan view gives us the map, an isometric view is used for our interactive map, where you click on a building and it shows you photos and gives information. SMT also want me to do a virtual walk around the college. One day, I'm hoping to get the go ahead to get it all 3D printed and put in a case in reception.

As a college, we make the not unfair assumption that students have used a computer before they've come to us. On induction day, they are given their user name (student number) and password (dob with some extra characters in) and they are encouraged to login and explore the student portal. This has links to moodle, email, library, student handbook, etc. They are also advised to change their password. They then go away for two months and come back, having forgotten their password, so in the first week, we have a line of 850 new students outside our office all wanting their password reset. They are also shown moodle and how to access email in the first PT session. Instruction in accessing email is done by showing them a video.
