  1. Five more bomb threats this morning. There were others earlier in the week. Latest Birmingham News and information from the Birmingham Mail (check breaking news column)
  2. The result was posted on the Melon Farmers site last night. I guess Charlie has been out celebrating and hasn't had time to update the official site.
  3. "Barney Miller" too, the precursor to "Fish" - I have fond memories of both TV shows.
  4. You haven't got CRT monitors have you? I've known them to squeal and a thump on the side usually fixes it.
  5. Why "Robot Check" in the last few posting? Did anybody notice this Infant Circumcision Trainer on synaesthesia's 55 gallon lube page?
  6. It's amazing what you find when you're shopping while slurping a beer Uranium Ore Canned Unicorn Meat
  7. Can you please email me a slice?
  8. Happy Monday for me - I have a day off - Go Me!

  10. Charlie said "Yesterday afternoon, I dropped off a DCP copy of Paint Drying at the BBFC's offices in Soho Square, ahead of its examination next Monday." 'Paint Drying' has been delivered to the BBFC
  11. DC tried to remake Wonder Woman before and failed dismally Wonder Woman (TV Movie 2011) - IMDb

  14. Here's what we used to do in the big iron days
  15. Human Centipede and Human Centipede II. In a nutshell, don't waste your time. Despite the hype, Human Centipede does nothing interesting with the premise or characters. It seems as though the writer thinks a concept is all that is required to make a film.
  16. FB don't even listen if you contact them directly. We have reported a problem to them twice and all we get back is "Your feedback will be used to improve Facebook. Thanks for taking the time to make a report."
  17. There was some overnight where I live. Enough to turn the road white. It was quite slushy walking to the station. Bit cold too!
  18. In the Metro today, it says "A spokesman said drivers had to get out of their cabs to check passengers were safely on and off as the glare made it impossible to see the full length of the train in their mirrors before moving off". While this sounds reasonable, it is also a poor excuse. On the train I catch, the conductor makes sure the people are on and signals the driver with a buzzer. There was a story recently that modern trains weren't heavy enough to cope with slippery rails. That's the price of progress - we get rid of nice, heavy steam trains and now nothing works on the railway. Maybe "The Flying Scotsman" and The A1 "Tornado" could be pressed into regular service?
  19. It's well known that once a Terry's Chocolate Orange is opened they go off very quickly and the only solution is to eat it all in one go. I had one last night. For Xmas, my sister gave me a giant Ferrero Rocher, together with the aforementioned Choc Orange, which I carried back from Australia. Very nice! I think she is trying to encourage me to put on weight
  20. We've heard of trains being delayed due to leaves on the line or the wrong kind of snow. Now it's Rail operator Southeastern blames 'bright sunlight' for delays - BBC News
  21. Finally got back to the gym last night after 3 weeks off. Before time off pullups = 8 sets of 8. Last night = 3 sets of 7, 3 sets of 5. I hope they quickly come back. Everything else was on par although I am a bit sore today. Back there tomorrow.
  22. Yesterday I saw Bolshoi Babylon and I was the only person there; I suspect the specialised subject was off little interest. Shame as it's an extremely well filmed documentary and pulls no punches. It is going to be screened on Russian TV later in the year. The reaction should be enlightening.
  23. Stevie Wright too, who died over Christmas. He was one of The Easybeats
  24. Petrol is 1/2 the cost it is in Blighty. If you want an LPG car, LPG is even cheaper and available at all servos. My sister used to have one but she decided not to have her classic MG converted. Food is cheaper and better quality too. I love fresh sweet corn. Here you might get a couple of 10cm long bits in a supermarket. In Australia, you can buy a whole ear, 25cm long in any supermarket. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't find frozen Yorkshire puddlings but everything else I tried to buy was available.
