I dont understand why those countries that have got rid of the coins in general use still price things so that you would need them but then round up or down? Seems nuts to me

Yes, me too. He did a lot for science, and was such a light-hearted man. I love the fact that he was on so many TV programs from The Simpsons to Big Bang and he really seemed to enjoy himself. A real ambassador for science, and indeed the UK as well

Loads and loads of ebay resellers and dumpster divers

I think they said on the radio this morning that 60% of 2 and 1p coins are only used once and then put in piggybanks, drawers etc. Seems a huge number to me. Other countries have got rid of them - Canada for one

Nope. We've used SIMS online for some months now. We are a junior school

As far as I know that is how our staff access SIMS now, and have done for some time. We have a shortcut on the intranet page and they use that to log in to SIMS

The Shape of Water Hmm - very underwhelmed. It was OK but the storyline was transparent, even the twist!

No, I know I was really thinking of it as a place to share something that had just made you happy or you had just thought about that minute

It's not about a long list, it is about the small things in life - and you may only be able to think of one

Hearing a text arrive and seeing that it is one of my children - yes, I'm a soppy mum

Oh - I wonder if they have any left. I need some more weights and have thought about kettlebells too

Happy Birthday @mikeprice

Well. yes, but he isn't a techie like we are...not sure what enterprise technical architects do, but he is one! It has been raining all day here and the temp has gone up to 4 degrees. Bye bye snow...

Yeah, you'd think this would work wouldnt you - ours was piped inside to the waste pipe for the washing machine, which then goes outside and runs along a wall to the nearest drain (about 10ft). The whole pipe - your normal plastic waste pipe - froze solid yesterday! There is no drain anywhere nearer to the boiler so not sure what to do about it

Snow is now covered in a thick layer of ice so travel is even worse than it was yesterday. Daughter and boyfriend (who currently lives here) both at home as is mrwITch. The latter is supposed to be working remotely but I see little evidence of it at the moment!

Whilst I enjoyed the day, it all went to hell later. Firstly the daughters boyfriend had to abandon his car (rear wheel drive BMW) and walk half a mile home. Daughter and mrwITch took hours to get home and then the boiler started making very odd noises. Turns out it was a frozen condensation pipe - but of course ours goes into a much longer pipe that runs for about 10 feet outside. Cue lots of kettles of hot water - got it sorted for now but it might freeze again. We seem to have some freezing rain now so i am not sure what will happen next, weatherwise. School shut tomorrow (not that I work Fridays) and I am unable to go and visit my sister - she lives fairly near where those people are stuck on the A31.

When our DH started a year ago, the first thing she got rid of was the paper "whats happening this week" doc. Staff are encouraged to look on the calendar. A brief overview is written on the staff notice board every day - as are any important notices which are also emailed

Snowing heavily here now (YAY!) I've been baking - hobnobs and lemon drizzle tray bake. Now dancing around the living room to my favourite song of ALL TIME All Right Now (Free) :cheer2::cheer2: I thought it was time witch got her pompoms out!!!!

Yes, I talk to myself all the time when exercising - just lately though it has been whilst walking in the freezing cold with the dog

We have snow too and the school is closed. Silly really as there is only a couple of inches but apparently it is because the forecast is bad for later in the day.

"The South West could be one of the only areas to escape the snowfall " *sigh.....

-6 here. No snow as yet but I have never known it so cold. The dog got a very short walk this morning!

We just keep getting 5 mins of a few flakes and then it stops. The dog kept looking up a bit puzzled when I took him out in it earlier.

Snow didnt stey very long sadly. Still, there is always tomorrow

It has literally JUST started snowing in South Dorset!!!! Very excited - must take the dog out to see what he thinks :cheer2:
