This is available for both current Ruckus customers, and those using competitive solutions. In either scenario we can get access to additional discount which comes right to you. I don't think it would be huge. I'd welcome the opportunity to compare the two. Typically Ruckus will require less APs than Ubiq. Their latest R310 is it a lower price point where budgets are tight. For smaller deployments (sub 25) you also have the option to go Unleashed which removes the need for a controller. You're right that we will still come out more expensive, but you will be getting a more feature rich solution. I completely accept that Ruckus isn't going to be right for every opportunity, where budgets are very tight Ubiq have a great solution.

Morning @CyBeRkId2002 have you already purchased your Ubiq kit? If not would you consider looking at Ruckus Wireless at all? We could offer to do a free of charge predictive survey for you to review your site and get an AP count. All we need is some accurate site plans. We could then look at some of the latest promotions to get you the best price for your project. We can get all of this turned around fairly quickly and it will give you an alternative option to review that will be backed by our engineers.

If you would like a second company to spec the kit and provide some costs for you, please let me know. We supply both Palo Alto and FortiGate. We've come across a number of instances recently where both solutions have been over-specced for their purpose.

As some of you will be aware Ruckus Wireless purchased Cloudpath, a leader in secure and scalable onboarding solutions, back in October 2015. Cloudpath is vendor agnostic, extremely customisable, it can be run as on-prem or cloud and it’s tied to the device not the user, but a user can have as many devices as needed under that single user license seat. Cloudpath will solve a number of challenges that are tech team are asked by our customers including: Admin wants user to experience 100% customisable captive portal pages Wants users on the network securely – DPSK can be too much of a hassle in large user count networks Admins don’t want to setup own RADIUS servers but still want Dynamic VLNA tagging – Not possible with just Ruckus Captive portal only with DPSK (see issue number 2) Cloudpath does allow for D-VLAN tagging. Admins want to push certificates out to user for SSL web decryption automatically – tricky to do in a BYOD deployment without Cloudpath - MDM can do this but uses don’t want to enrol own device in MDM solution Admins don’t want jailbroken iOS devices or root Android devise on the network – NAC controller over BYOD etc. We’re currently offering one-on-one webinars to introduce people to the solution. The built-in portal allows users to onboard a wide array of new devices in a self-service, automated manner. With support for issuing certificates via the built-in certificate infrastructure and from existing Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), such as Microsoft CA. The rich policy controls in Cloudpath ES ensure that every device is uniquely identifiable, provisioned with the appropriate certificate, and has the appropriate policy applied. Policies can be built using traditional mechanisms, like Active Directory and group mapping, along with powerful new mechanisms, including Google Apps for a seamless Chromebook experience.

Hello, do you still need some assistance with your upgrade path? If so, please let me know and i can arrange for one of our techs to give you a call to discuss your options. If you're adding new APs to your network they must run the same FW as the rest of your system. Is your current ZD in a support contract? Your 7372s are capable of running the latest version, 9.12, so you'd be fine to add any of the latest access points. You would just need to make sure you have support on your ZD and upgrade. Alternatively, if you were looking to upgrade i'd suggest keeping hold of your ZD and just upgrading your APs. Happy to answer any questions, or help however we can.

We're a Securly reseller, we've only recently taken the solution on and have a fair few school trialing it. As mentioned above they're fairly new to the UK market after launching in the US. If you wanted a demo, or more information, please let me know and I will look to arrange something for you

Hello, We have had a lot of people contact us recently saying that they have a Ruckus ZD 1000/1100/3000 with some form of 7XXX Access Points and that they've wanted some advice on whether they should upgrade and which path they should take. I've also noticed a few threads on here with similar questions. As result of the conversations I have put together a document offering a few different upgrade routes focusing on two scenarios: Scenario One - We have an organisation with a ZoneDirector 3000 and 40 x 7363 AP deployment. Scenario Two - We have an organisation with a ZoneDirector 1000/1100 with 12 x 7363 AP deployment I've also included some information on wave 1 v wave 2. Apologies for jumping in, but some ideas to try: Is something else on the network on the same IP as the ZD? Can you take the ZD off and either ping the IP still or ARP resolve it to another Mac address? If that isn't the issue do you have both Ethernet ports on the ZD plugged into the network? If so you shouldn't. Only a single Ethernet port should be used on the ZD

To compliment what has been said before, with Selina Lo still taking the lead on the Ruckus portfolio it gives us confidence in the future of their solution. The acquisition follows the trend we have witnessed in the market over the last year or so with the HP - Aruba and Fortinet - Meru purchases. The Ruckus partner conference kicks off tomorrow through to Friday. We have two people going along, we expect this topic to take centre stage and will provide an update when we return. If people do have questions or concerns feel free to ask. If we can't answer them, we will bring them up during the conference and provide answers asap.

Ubiquiti have some good products and like you say available at a fraction of the price. We come up against them more and more in competitive scenarios. Performance wise, Ruckus will be better, and you will need more Ubiq APs to cover the same area as a single Ruckus AP so although the per AP cost is a lot cheaper, the project cost won't be quite as much. Where budgets are tight Ruckus have a great AP in the R310 Unleashed AP. A standalone AP that can be expanded up to 25 points, needs no controller and you get the same great Ruckus performance.

We have had a lot of organisations contact us recently as they look set to take the leap from an 11n wireless network to the latest 11ac protocol but are unsure of what route to take. We commonly hear; I want to upgrade my Ruckus network, but what are my options? In years passed by it was a simpler decision when it came to upgrading your network. You either upgraded your ZoneDirector, part or all of your AP deployment, or all of the above. Now customers are faced with the additional options of having a cloud controller (vSZ), or no controller at all (Unleashed), as well as the Wave 1 and Wave 2 11.ac AP options. If you find yourself in this position, please get in touch and we can discuss your options with you and find the best upgrade path for your needs. Hi @grinch, how is this project coming along? As mentioned above there is an alternative option with your deployment. Net-Ctrl offers our own Ruckus cloud managed service using the Ruckus vSCG. You buy your APs and a vSCG license, plus support like normal. You can then join our vSCG controller where you can still manage your deployment like normal. You do miss out on a few features with not having your own ZD, some include Application Awareness, DPSK and Role Based Access Control. If this could be an option you'd like to consider, please let me know. I can arrange for some additional information, or a call with one of our engineers to discuss the tech aspects further.
