Hi On behalf of a school we need to dispose of 78 Aerohive AP121. The sale is by the school and monies would be due to them. We are looking for £60 each inc vat. They will come with a certificate of sale so they can be moved. Thanks

Meru MC1500 controller and 10 APs. All fully working. We recently upgraded our WIFI so this is our old system. Controller has ears for racking as well as serial cable and software cd. Access points all come with 6 antennae and mounting plates. Any sensible offers considered as this is just sitting in a cupboard. Collection preferred from Primary School in Bromley, Kent. Willing to courier - but might cost a few bob! PM me if interested. Thanks!

Hey, Just wondering from those with enterprise level WLAN's setup in there schools in the real world how many client could reasonably connect to an access point. for example how many for a ruckus 7962 or equivalent. Usage will likely be staff BYOD and student laptops (school owned SEN/EAL) access to the internet/possibly the network. Not whole rooms. Sorry for the lack of details on usage but we've not had any meetings about requirements yet.

Hi, First time user of edugeek - would really appreciate any help and advice. My new school has a wireless solution in place which has 12 AP's and is controlled by a wireless controller (thinking netgear). The school is an old three storey double sided victorian building. The school has 60 netbooks and 30 laptops all accessing the wireless network at different times during the day. The server is running Microsoft Server 2003 and the server is approximately 6 -7 years old. The pupils/staff log onto the the network via roaming profiles and all have individual log ons. The school is located in London and has recently switched from synetrix broadband services to VMB services via LGFL 2.0 connection. The problems: Classes of children can take up to 20 minutes to access the network. This is far from ideal when you are teaching as you want instantaneous access. Staff members have long waits before logging on via netbooks/laptops What can be done to improve the time take for pupils logging on to network via wireless device? How can the signal strength be improved across the school? What reliable companies geared at providing wireless solutions can do carry out this work? Thank you ICTteach

Hi all, I am rolling out a wireless upgrade at one of my schools over the summer holidays. They currently have UniFi UAP-AC-PRO's with the plastic mounting brackets. I am upgrading them to the U6 Enterprise access points and these come with the metal mounting brackets. I have read online that these brackets are cross-compatible, and I can use the AC-PRO brackets to mount the U6s - can anyone confirm if this is true? TIA

We have had a lot of organisations contact us recently as they look set to take the leap from an 11n wireless network to the latest 11ac protocol but are unsure of what route to take. We commonly hear; I want to upgrade my Ruckus network, but what are my options? In years passed by it was a simpler decision when it came to upgrading your network. You either upgraded your ZoneDirector, part or all of your AP deployment, or all of the above. Now customers are faced with the additional options of having a cloud controller (vSZ), or no controller at all (Unleashed), as well as the Wave 1 and Wave 2 11.ac AP options. If you find yourself in this position, please get in touch and we can discuss your options with you and find the best upgrade path for your needs. For those of you that haven’t dealt with us before, Net-Ctrl is a value-add technology reseller based in Ipswich, Suffolk. We have been selling, installing and integrating Ruckus for longer than I can remember. We’re a top tier partner with Ruckus, we’re classed as an ‘Alpha Dog’ partner. We have our own in-house team of wireless engineers that have obtained CWNA and Ruckus certs. We can offer FOC predictive surveys, or visit your site and perform a Hybrid site survey, so you can see what we expect to achieve with your install. In the UK we have installed Ruckus into over 400 education establishments. Not only do we plan and install the equipment, but we’re able to support you with any technical issues that arise. So, if you have Ruckus, or are thinking of starting your own Ruckus journey, please send me a PM with your current situation and what you’re trying to achieve and we will help.
