Hey, Just wondering from those with enterprise level WLAN's setup in there schools in the real world how many client could reasonably connect to an access point. for example how many for a ruckus 7962 or equivalent. Usage will likely be staff BYOD and student laptops (school owned SEN/EAL) access to the internet/possibly the network. Not whole rooms. Sorry for the lack of details on usage but we've not had any meetings about requirements yet.

We have a Ruckus Virtual Smartzone - Essentials. I'd like to create a wireless network that accepts 2.4G clients only. Is there a way to limit a new wireless network in this way? I can see the option to disable all the 5G channels within Access Points > Select Zone > Configure group, but I don't want to disable 5G across all my APs, I want to disable it for all clients connecting to a particular WLAN. The problem I have is some devices require a connection to a 2.4G network, they don't work on 5G. I've create a WLAN for them but they still won't connect. I suspect it's because they're trying to connect via 5G. I just can't see a way of turning that off or forcing them to connect to 2.4G. Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone, I am using a Ruckus Zone Director 3000 for our Trusts WiFi, we have 6 SSID's and a number of VLAN's some of which are in use by various SSID's. I am using Zabbix and a combination of its SNMP and agent based checks to recovery data from devices and lastly Grafana to present this in a nice SLT friendly manner. I am hoping that someone call help me understand the metrics that are presented by Grafana as I cant match them up with the details of the config in the Zone Director?!?! As an example when I check the metrics for an access point an R710for instance, I can selected the usual RX and TX data for 14 different interfaces called one of the following (Interface wlan0: ) (Interface wlan1: ) (Interface wlan2: ) (Interface wlan32: ) (Interface wlan33: ) (Interface wlan34: ) (Interface wlan35: ) (Interface wlan36: ) (Interface wlan37: ) (Interface wlan38: ) (Interface wlan3: ) (Interface wlan4: ) (Interface wlan5: ) (Interface wlan6: ) Is there anyway to know which wlan interfaces are associated with which SSID's ?? thanks in advance

I've had a quote for a Motorola Wireless Solution, that is extremely competative. I'm very close to ordering it. Does anyone have any reasons why I shouldn't go with them? I've looked at many other solutions, so please don't just say look at Aruba, Xirrus, Extricom, Maru, Trapeze, Cisco, HP, Netgear, Dell cause I already have . I'm looking for a reason not to go for Motorola, Thanks.

Hi folks. We are having an Internet provision crisis. We have two schools a) one with a Xirrus WLAN with fibre optics up to 10 meg for about 70 users (very fast!), and b) a Ruckus WLAN with up to 3 meg with about 200 users (very slow!). A couple of questions if I may.... 1- The company that provided both solutions offered 'wireless controllers' of which i have no experience. How will they improve the existing networks? Is it speed or security? 2- Will installing web servers be worth it? Will caching content reduce the demand on the ADSL connections? What I also want to understand better is how much of a difference it will make if we handle the ADSL connections better....the controllers/load balancing/web servers, etc. I have a boss who during the past year didn't want to spend any money on a complete solution, now is blaming the technician (and me) for things going wrong : (

I am based in Cumbria, UK and have the following available: MultiSeries 1000 PoE WLAN Switch x 5 MultiSeries 500 PoE WLAN Switch x 1 EXRP-30n PoE APs x 55 (approx.) Make me an offer! (Apologies if posts like this are not allowed, I looked around for guidelines on what was acceptable and couldn't find anything that forbade it)
