Hi, After wiping a machine that I thought was dead I found that RM Numeracy stored all its data locally which I lost. I managed to get a backup of all the data on the HD and I have found the folder where RM stored the snapshot files but it won't let me copy them to the new machine.. and RM doesn't support it anymore. I know its a punt but has anyone else messed up like this and found a workaround. They data files have a UDB extension but every time I copy the groups.udb folder it goes haywire.. I am sure its a relationship issue but I can't open the files to see whats in them.

Hi, Does anyone have a utility the works liek the lovely Cleanspl did for Windows XP? I added a PS driver to a room of computers and its messed up the entire spooler system on the computers..... prefer to just wipe all the printers out and start again.

We have netgear here, pricing was a huge issue for us. I have a meaty GSM7328S but most are L2 GSM7224 and similar. The Vlanning uses different terminology and some weirdness that I haven't got my head round yet but the warrnties are very good too...lifetime on most of my kit. I did buy a 48 port switch off ebay which had an issue and they exchanged it, accepting a ebay bill as prrof of purchase so i got the latest model. As for the wireless... ermmm... get something better.

PS. Got a reply from them it was because your payment was held back.. i am all ready waiting for money to clear from last week.. when i buy i pay not make people wait for payment.. It came out of my credit card straight away so not sure what they are on about.

I have bid again for the same amount, he only has 54 feedback but he has sold one before for £102. I did bid on it previously but was outbid and got a second chance offer for £141... he might have been annoyed as I didn't take the second chance offer.

A strange one this, I bought somethign for school on eBay last night. A bargain and paid via my credit card. The other person refunded me and has now relisted the item without a reason and he is not replying why. I didn't think eBay allowed this to happen as its a contract. He has changed it to shipped too which is very weird. I don't want to kick up a stink the the eBay mafia but it doesn't seem fair really.

Thats the reason I stopped going to the cinema except for special films. Going straight from work usually means they are almost an empty screen and the people their are fanboys. Have to say the cinema was deadly quiet throughout but I was sat 4 rows from the front.

Hi, Does anyone know of an ETA for the android part of Lightspeed MDM. I was told it should be here the end of this month so looking forward to seeing what it can do.

Just got back from seeing this (I love my job where I can pop out early and catch an early screening). I love Black as a director, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was one of my fave films but I can't work out if I really liked this or was disappointed with it. I won't do any spoilers but there is not enough Iron Man except for the bit shown in the spoiler filled trailer. I did enjoy Pearce but felt a bit cheated by the baddy after Avengers Assemble. It was very funny though, some really good gags. It was funny at the end when all the sad geeks sat through the credits to get to the extra bit. Will be interested how Avengers 2 develops after this, Thor 2 looks silly and it sounds like Cap America is going back in time.... maybe DC will start catching up with Supes... it does look very good but lets hope its not as pretentious as Watchmen.

I went for the 620, I did look at the 720 but it was a bit big for me. Even a fiver cheaper on the tariff too

With the debacle over Windows 8 I have to say the new Windows phone I picked up last night is very good. granted I chnaged from a HTC wildfire S which was a ickle underpowered android jobby but the slickness of this Nokia is impressive, super fact and after the inital shock at the tiles (nectar points tile???) its very easy to use. I know I know, its rubbish. I thought as it had a controller it would be lovely and fact but even the new WNDAP360 seem a bit slow unless I am missing something really obvious in the setup. I was just sat in a science lab with an access pioint on the floor above, I started 11 laptops and they all came up in a few minutes and looking at the signal strength anything from 50mb to over 100 so pretty good strength so I thought I would PDQDeploty acrobat 11. Lookign at the throughput it was awful, something like 50kb and took and age, one of them hit 2mb/sec but it still took an age. These were the WNDAP350 boxes controlled through a 5316 controller. i have tried them with security off and mac filtering on so see if the encryption is slowing it down but its not. Does anyone have any tweaks I can do. I have done some with the RF management but its supposed to allocate that automatically. Really annoyed as there is loads of complaints about netgear wireless and i don't have the budget to replace it.

Lots of stuff seem to be soon, parental gateway, sims write back, IE compatability. Will wait 12 months and see if it gets out of beta.

Hi, a quickie, has anyone edited the layout of an invoice template in Opera II.. I did it a few years ago and can't for the life of me remember how. Crystal reports rings a bell but its not dinging loud enough. Our marketing lady ordered the wrong invoice papers.

Just out of curiosity, if a school with 500 users were to go cloud what size pipe would be a good size connection. I imagine a 30 meg fibre line would be a bit slow. Just interested in the tech available...leased line etc.....

Interesting thread, we've just had a meeting where the idea of cloud computing raised its head. I can see a hybrid solution working but hate the idea of going all cloud, except for the junior school which uses it lighter.

Don't hold me to this but its about 2k for the single rocket appliance and £5 per client....although Rtfm seems to have got a right discount.

I am having lots of fun after installing Sharp Copiers on my network. The new one is this. I have a user who can print to the copier from word perfectly. When he tries to print from Excel and select the copier from the drop down box it jumps back to the local printer and he can't select it... making the copier default doesn't work either. I've had random people saying their printers have disappeared and the loon box where you put in the pin number has stopped appearing.. and the copier do not give an error if the pin is incorrect or not put in so the staff think there is a printer issue. Grrrrrr

Nope, I just allowed them to RDP into the exams machine. It does appear that it fixed itself but I don't think i did anything. no help really, soz

Half way through the first episode and its bonkers. Nice to see the Amiga getting dusted off for doing special effects again... Babylon 5s memory is not dead yet. Will keep watching but I hope it improves as it might be quite interesting.

What a nightmare. I know copier software is usually pants but the nec stuff is all I have been doing for the past 2 days. I can't beloved there is no import routine for users, you can export and import but its causing errors. 2 copiers, the main receotionists pin doesn't work... I reset it on the web but still fails. I reset it on the panel and it takes. I go through 100 accounts and check all the pins and they all work eventually. I export the user settings from this copier and import it on another one.....the users pin stops again and it stops working on the original one....bonkers. Almost at stage of removing the pins as I am getting loads of stick. It's set to pop up the box where the user can type in there pin that works fine but I can't rely on the pins. Anyone else used these copiers? I am not impressed with them up to now.

My niece told me her boyfriend enjoyed it until the end when they realised there was **** ** *** ****** ******. Ruined it for me.

Hope they invest in the current software and not try and get us to buy new...ala intouch. Been waiting for a library update for 4 months now

Thanks, I know about the redploy and have used it on the past. Here is my scenario today. A computer HD has crashed so I need to redploy. After install I removed the computer from Solus 3 and re attached it (several times as it never does it the first time). Solus 3.5.0 beta installed fine but nothing else, going into the Spring update to force a redploy shows its not listed. So I try and unintall the client and it fails... Oh and I have found that the usual trick of letting users run the simsapplication setup to fix failed solus 3 installs now doesn't work on power users, I have to do it as a administrator as a DLL is locked.
