I can see that the logon tracker for logging data when they access HAP is working but its not workign to show logon and logoff events for the PC. Is there a way to run this manually to check if its just the logon script thats hanging for some reason. I have tried a shortcut but it kist logs the web events.

Hi, An expert came in last week to configure vlanning on my 7328v3 switch. He messed around for aged getting it working and had managed to get routing to show between VLAN 1 and the others but i can't get it to work on another level 3 switch. When I go into the wizard on the GIU it says the vlan is already created and won't let me assign an IP, when i try and enable vlan routing on the cli it crashed the console out after telling me I can't get onto the management cos its assigned to vlan 1 I remember him taking ages to take the management off vlan 1 and then putting it back on after he'd got the vlanning routing. Has anyone else had to do this? My head is hurting as I have been trying to copy his config to get a simple vlan up and running for my IP cameras between a 7328 and a little 726s. I have got the routing set up on the 7328 switch and shwoing but I am sure when he had a look it showed that the link was down but I can't find out how to get it back up or to show me in the CLI or GIU if it is actually down. Also (soz) As I have a couple of level 3 switches how should I set them up to talk to each other? They can't be stacked unfortunatley. one is a POE switch which i am using for my cameras also. Any help would be great.

Well I got someone in eventually and what a waste of money it seems to have been. All CLI stuff which is a dark art unless you know the correct phrases. I can't get inter-vlan routing to work even though i have followed all the steps. Wish putty had recorded all the guys commands so I could cheat. I have realised that netgear switches are weird.

I was quite looking forward to this film, I even took a half day so i could go last Friday ont he opening day but was soooooooooooooo dissapointed and it looks liek I am the only person on the planet who is. Listening to Kermode and Mayo they were wetting themselves over it and so is TotalFilm. Anyone else seen it and thought it wasn't as good as the hype. Think i enjoyed Dredd more.

I have the scripts in group policies as it says in the article. I have the computer start up scripts as “%windir%\system32\hap logon tracker.exe” https://krusty/HAP - this is on the computers OU I have the logon script as “%windir%\system32\hap logon tracker.exe” logon https://krusty/HAP - this is on the users OU I have checked the GP results and they are showign up in there. I can see some web browsing data showing for myself which I want to turn off, i really only want to know when people are logging on and off the computers. The SQL server is set with the HAP user as owner of the HAP database. The firewall on the server is off. The cleint protocols are all enabled. On the video tutorial for the SQL connection it shows the lines for the SQL to be configured for the connecotr as using localhost as the Server name. Mine won't work with that, it comes up with a SQL connection error. When i put the data in below it goes into the logs. I think the web on HAP is working, its just that the clients aren't talking to the SQL properly.

Done these already, I can see some data in the SQL web setup which I don't want to use bu there is no logon/logoff data... and there is no data showing in the web pages.

Yes, I managed to get the web page to view and there are no errors so I presume the SQL is linking, took a while but got there.

Me again, sorry I am playing with the HAP Logon tracker but its not showing any data. Looking at the documentation it says 1. Download the HAP+ Logon Tracker Installer from the HAP+ Site 2. Deploy HAP User Card Setup.msi Is this right? Do i need to setup user card as well as the logon tracker.msi? Are there any firewall settings I need to do? In a testing enviroment can I get away with it not having a cert?

Hi, I can't test this myself as I come out in a rash touching apple products but a parent has reported that when she tries to connect to the HAP portal she is getting a ID certificate error. Can ayone shed any light on this as I don't have a mac mini to test this on, she does say her iPad works fine. Not a HAP issue I imagine but tenuosuly linked. Thanks Simon

I know I have a downer on Sims as it is.. poor design.. 1980s updating.. inTounch obsession but Profiles is without doubt the most frustrating piece of **** I have ever used. I have spent all day gettign a template ready.. looks good and even with the minor changes I kept checking and double checking it worked. Unfortunately we missed a subject off so we created a new comment bank and attached the template to it... WHOOOSH... doesn't work at all now, even if I remove the tags where it looks liek its stopping. I wouldn't mind but thats it... kaput... you can't replace the template with a old ones. ARRRRGGGHHHHHHHHH. £1500 for something which I appreciate will save us time in the long run but god.. its so clunky. Sorry for the rant... all day I have wasted on this.

Thanks, I will have another play. I was only trying to import 1 teacher to start with but it wouldn't have it. Need to set up all the periods and rooms first anyway. Great product this HAP but its testing me.

A quickie. Is the room booking used as a timetable also.. i only ask this as its pulling all the rooms to be imported on the static booking so it will populate everyones rooms. I can't get it to import them yet though.. a Object reference not set to an instance of an object error is showing up when I try. When setting up the booking system does the rooms/periods have to match exactly what is in the Sims report? Also, it mentions the display name being the same... can this just be put in the notes section as mentioned?

Hi, I am trying to install the apppool\hap user to the database users but have installed SQL 2012 and the new user creation is baffling me. When I create the new user it throws a wobby saying there is an invalid character.. when i try and add one using the query builder its saying it can't find krusty\HAP. Anyone got this working on SQL 2012 who can offer advise?

I didn't have a cert for my server so thought I could just use HTTP... I couldn't, I had to use HTTPS to get it to work.

Can this be done on a per user basis.. so if a account belongs to a certain security group it redirects?

When I open up my files in v8 it goes to the very swish screen, is there a way to keep the menu open on the left at all time and the files alongside.. I noticed that the menu only shows up the text when you hover over it and I am rolling this out to junior kids who might get confused. Be a nice feature if I could redirect a logon straight into the file system if they are a pupil.. I did this in v7 by having 2 haps runnign alongside and giving the kids a different URL to visit.

I must be missing something really obvious but I have created a new server for the version 8 install and followed the instructions closely... when i go to setup.aspx all the isons are crosses and their are no tabs or drop downs... no errors at all so I can't configure it. All the files are there and the images are in the right place.. the only thing I see as an error is when I test the connection of the app pool it fails with invalid application path. Can anyone offer some advise please. i installed IIS with all the bells and whistles and my V7 works relativelty fine but I need to move the server as it keeps killing my server on the old one.

Hi, We are going down the lines of recording pupil homework on our system for the kids... what do you guys use for this.. I am not really involved but have set up HAP v7 for remote access (brilliant) but a teacher has set up a word document for recording all staff homeworks.. very limited I know. I did look at skydrive and its shared word feature which would solve the locked issues with word but its not ideal.

Hi, Just been reported to me that we got server/busy errors last night when kids were trying to access the portal. When i look in the event log I see lots of ASP NET 4.0 errors / Event code: 3005 Event message: An unhandled exception has occurred. Looking back it appears this has been happening for a while but onyl now its been reported to me. Any idea what it might be.. eventid is no use. Is there a way to suppress the pop up error? I am getting one when a client doesn't have word 2010 on their machine and its wanting to add it.

Hi, I have a bit of an issue with 1 users computer connecting to the school wireless system from his PC. I am using a WMS7316 the WNDAP350 units. 2 desktops with an IP within 15 feet of them. 1 of them is connecting at around 100+ MBPS and the other one is at 11. Identical machines, identical Access points and adapters and imaged Windows 7 PC's. The onlt thing I can think of is that the one I am having issues with is jumping across to the other access point and not getting a decent speed although it does say its getting full bars. Its very confusing, i started having a play with the channels to see if that helps but it hasn't as of yet. the user is saying its taking 20 minutes to load his profile. Can anyone offer advise? (please don't say throw out the kit)
