Hi, I am trying to upgrade to the latest version but keep hitting a brick wall and messing up my HAP. Am I supposed to just copy over the top of my existing HAP install with the upgrader package? When I did this, I made sure the permissions were correct (and I have done the permissions bit in the registry) but I am getting hangs when I log on. IE doesn't bring up the logon page and FF and Chrome get to the page but hangs for ever. In the event log I can see 2 errors. Can anyone help, I want to start trying out the homework bit. Hi, Has anyone else used this product for connecting ipads to their pc/projector? I just got a education license but the first user is telling me its disconnecting after a couple of minutes. The wireless AP is 10 feet away and he is the only one using it but not sure if there are any tweaks I need to do. I would look at the ipads error log but... its a toy

Sorted - I think Looks liek its to do with the wonderful libraries and windows. If the libraries get altered then it doesn't like it. My domain admin account for some reason doesn't work but the students one does. I will creep away and hope its okay.

Hi, I have 2 copies of Premiere Elements 11 that don't want to run as domain users (including domain admins). I am waiting for Adobe to get back to me regarding running it over a network but wondered if anyone else has the fix handy. Interesting decision by Sky to show the last 2 episodes of Fringe at the same time as in the US. I have quite enjoyed this series over the years, its come off the rails a bit and has gone really weird lately seemingly forgotten the dual world storylines but its still a decent watch. Every time I watch it though it reminds me of Half Life for some reason, probably the posters on the buildings. Alot of decent series have finished over the past few years only to be replaced by stuff like Arrow?????

Just waiting for suport to get back to me but thought I woudl ask on here also. We are attempting to use profiles for the first time, teachers are inputting data into the profiels fine but we have gone to preview and all of a sudden its nto working at all. We spend ages doing the templates but they will not run... I even made copies of the profiles and they don't work either. Other templates do when I select them. When i try and run this report word doesn't even open up... it says its doing the tags then just closes.. no word. Anyone else seen this? We don't have time to recreate the templates as we are about to put them in review mode to get them checked. The only thing we did last week was be generated the reports which is what it said in the manual. Does generate lock out the template? not liking profiles at all, theres about 10 templates we sued for testing attached to multiple sessions which we can't delete.

Sorted, sort of. The computer had an external VGA splitter, when i plugged the monitor in directly to the card it showed up as the correct monitor. I swapped it for a new internal splitter (Lindy one that i like, less clutter) and it still didn't show the monitor but it gave me all the resolutions I wanted including the 1366 I needed. Still don't think its showing the bios welcome screen. looks liek its outputting to DVI on bootup but I obviously can't get into it to change it to VGA unless I borrow a dvi monitor for a bit.

I have just upgraded a HP DX2400 PC to windows 7. It came with a 19" TFT when I bought it many moons ago but windows 7 doesn't support the resolution it needs natively whereas XP did. I decided to buy a graphics card to see if that fixed it but the graphics card doesn't disply from the VGA port on boot so I can't get into the bios but it does show up when windows boots... this is going to be very confusing for staff. Also, when I have installed the driver its only giving me an option of 800v600 and 1024x 864.. nothing more even when I go into the Nvdia control panel. I have checked the correct driver is installed and checked for updates... even 'downgraded' to one on thr M$ site. The grpahics card is a Asus 210 PCI-x card. Anyone seen this or can offer advice. I don't have a DVI monitor free to check if the output to DVI is different. Oh and the monitor ID doesn't display in the Asus control panel correctly so I don't think its identifying it right either but I would have thought it would let me have more than 2 resolution choices.

I've got to the stage that I am looking elsewhere for web filtering, the new support website is terrible also. There only seems like there are 20 articles and most searches bring up a big fat zero.

Maybe M$ have realised that W8 is not for desktop pc's and W9 will be more desktop based.

I've had a few computers getting stuck with 'install active' on their status and me not being able to get rid of them. After talking to support there is a lovely little utility they have produced which fixes these issues and a bunch more. Not sure if it been mentioned before on here so apologies if it has.

Thanks, they will need to lower the price for us to be seriously interested to be honest. I like the integration with mobile devices... its needed more than ever nowadays.

On the QNAP it only gives me an option to format the discs as EXT4. Looks like I need to do a bot more reading.

Evening, I recently purchased a QNAP 8TB backup device and a new server for my DPM backups... decided to go for DPM 2012 (horrible GUI btw) Never set up iscsi before or luns etc so would like some advise,. I have the connection between the R2 and the QNAP but need to set up the LUNs, I haven't done anything with the disks as I know they need to be raw. I did try setting up a LUN with all the disk space but R2 moaned about it being over 2TB. How have you guys set the disks up, if I set up 4 x LUNs as 1.8TB what happens if one of the disks fails? Sorry if this is obvious but bit green at all this.

Morning, I have a new Fujitsu M290 which for some reason has messed up its USB settings and won't recognise any USB hard drives installed. I have done the old, remove all USB devices from the hardware manager and rebooted but it still doesn't work. Strangly after doing this the little MS USB Bluetooth device has shown lots of unknown devices listed with a couple of crosses on which weren't there before. I have tried the USB in another PC of the same model and its fine. Is this a reinstall do you think? Its a Intel chipset which won't reinstall.. when I run the installer it doesn't go into the installer and what I have read says you can't uninstall these. I've removed all the USB devices also after rebooting also. The driver that is used on the working pc lives on the non workign one also.. bit weird. Anyone seen this before? Usually uninstalling the USB works for me but this one is a bugger.... oh and its got the latest BIOS

Hi guys, Wonder if some of you could help me produce a report to my bosses regarding mobile devices in school. We have a new enthusiatic teacher who is very very very very very keen on iPads but I need some evidence for and against them in schools. Probably going to be KS2 as we can't see them being useful in KS3 at the moment. Really appreciate any feedback people can give me, be nice to get some positive and negative comments. Along the line of. What mobile devices you are using and are they any good. (apple and android would be nice) Individual devices or class based. What KS are using them Do the school own them or part own them Any experience of taking them through from KS2 to KS3 and beyond A technicians view... how many breakages, reliability. Importance of reliable wireless, I knows its very important in MS to boot up properly but do drops in signal matter as much?(we have netgear devices here which i am not enamoured with, recently got some new 360s which I hope are better) Did you make the right choice? Hi, Does anyone use an easy alternative to Dropbox that stores on a local NAS. Soz if its a simple question but trying to get my head round how ipads work on a M$ network. The rep I met the other day talked about a new system that bridges Webdav to make it easier.. haven't got one to play with yet.

I know its half 11, I have had a couple of beers but these hoops I need to jump through to get SSO working on Office 365 see very tight. Can someone give me some heads up on how they have set up AD FS..like how many servers they use for the services. The documentation talks about multiple proxies...NLB servers and federation proxies. bit confused.

Just a quickie, XIBO have update their software recently with WOL capability which is a week too late for me as I ended up doing it in the BIOS The update process was relatively painless except by timings changed so the text whizzed up at 100 miles per hour. They have changed the layout a bit and its copying and pasting from word for me alot slicker.... the console seems alot faster too. I haven't messed around with campaigns yet, looks interesting.
