Quite possibly, but then that should enable me to see those bits when I look at the persons record and not just in the preview in the quick search. It may be more of a consistency issue than whether I should or should not be able to.

Morning, I've had a look around and can't find this issue, but thought I'd ask in case someone went "Oh that old chestnut" before I raised it with Capita; My SIMS .net account is not a member of Personnel anything, so if I look at a member of staffs record I can only see very basic info. However, if I type the member of staffs name in the quick search box at the top of the page and put my mouse over the result, I can see their home address, email addresses and phone numbers. Surely that's not correct? Stuart

Nevermind! I just renamed the folder that the file was in and it has now disappeared completely. Weird....

Morning all, I have a file on one of my servers which someone created this morning and now doesn't want. She can't delete it yet she made it. If I look at it on the server itself as a domain admin it says it is unable to display current owner, and I can't change the owner or the file permissions on it. If I delete it on the server then the file disappears from the screen, but if you press F5 to refresh it re-appears. Any thoughts please? Thank you Stuart P.S. I have Googled and drawn a blank....

For me, the over whelming argument for staying with MS is that as a school we are supposed to be preparing students for the real world, and in the real world it is predominantly MS products they will encounter. That is decreasing as more and more tablets are used, but certainly for the moment.....

This has just done it's strange thing again. The host is completely uncontactable over the network and so is one of the servers it is hosting. The other five it hosts are all working perfectly. If the host isn't contactable over the network, why and how are the hosted working?

We had some HP laptops which wouldn't work with a projector which all other laptops did, including other HPs. Some laptops/projectors are just more sensitive to different connections. If the signal quality drops slightly for some reason (outside interference) then it could just be enough to skew the image, but "auto"ing the projector re-establishes the connection.

Obviously this makes it a little tricky for the person using the PC, but I'd run it without the splitter and see if it makes a difference. My money is that it will.

Do an ipconfig /all and check everything is correct in there? If you're on a fixed IP, switch to DHCP (or vice versa) and see how that goes?
