This is the one I double checked with them, but it was HP who said it was inc VAT over the phone. I'm just waiting for them to verify it via email so I have it in writing. We certainly won't be getting the full £250 back as everything of ours is security marked so they knock £20 off just for that! Even if I spend £25k on laptops and only get £5k back, I'm still spending my £20k I budgeted is the basis I'm working on.....

If I buy a laptop which is £605 inc VAT, than that is around £500 exc VAT and then £250 back means I'm getting a laptop that would be £605 from a normal shop to a normal punter for £250! If I spend £25K on 50 laptops, and then send in 100 devices and only get £200 per device, that's still a £20K refund! Can't be right..... Just wondered if anyone had used it and had that sort of result out of it.

Anyone used it? Good/bad experiences? All sounds a bit too good to be true to me.......

Currently running Hyper-V without any failover etc setup, so moving to VMWare wouldn't lose me anything in that sense. Definitely happy with just forum support.

When I asked for the quote I had five servers with two processors each, and one server with one processor. The quote I got was for; 11x Academic VMware vSphere 6 Standard for 1 processor @ £480 each 11x Academic Basic Support/Subscription VMware vSphere 6 Standard for 1 processor foTechnical Support @ £100 each

That's what I thought too, but why do the terms and conditions imply otherwise?

Could someone please help me with VMWare licensing? I've tried calling VMWare and the first person I got I could hardly hear, so I called back and got cut off during the question of "Can I take a number in case we *click* beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep". I have also emailed them and got no response. Basically, I always thought you have to buy it if you're seriously going to use it. I got a quote a number of months ago (we have five servers with two processors and one with one processor) for around £6,000. I have come to question it though as I logged in to my VMware the other day and underneath my download link for "VMware vSphere Hypervisor 6.0 Update 1" (which I have a license key for) it says; If that's the case, does that mean I can just install it and use it but not on more than 100 servers at a time? It's a Fujitsu and I assume everything was configured correctly as the other servers setup identically all work fine, and this one worked fine until it was shutdown on this occasion. It's been rebooted before, and it was shutdown safely. So why now? I hate computers......

Nope. I was at BETT all day yesterday. At the moment I've removed the team, which then let me add a new virtual switch using just one of the NICs and now all the servers are running through that. Still need to sort it.

You have "REM"d out a few lines, that'll stop it working! Also, following your logic through if the computer is on then it will be told to shut down (once the REMs are removed) which means that COMPUTER1 will be shut down if it's on. The other IF statement you have regarding "COMPUTER1" just means it will also ECHO COMPUTER1, but due to the first IF, if it is on it will receive the shutdown command. You'd need the IF %%~G==COMPUTER1 statement first, and then finish it with a "GOTO SKIPPED", and then have a ":SKIPPED" just before your FOR loop finishes. The other thing is, why check if it responds to a PING in the first place? You could just send the shutdown command to everything without all this complexity.

@dapaulio - There is never any connection at all from the guests. The host works perfectly all the time. @teklogic - From what I've read elsewhere, this may be the way I need to head.

But the NICs themselves aren't complaining, and all work individually. It's just the virtual ones which are upset. At the moment, I've removed the team and then it let me create a new switch with an individual NIC in it which all the hosted servers are using. Fortunately most of them aren't very important and don't use a lot of traffic, the other one however is the SIMS server...... I'll keep playing.

@strawberry - No joy. If I try and remove the existing one it just says "Error applying Virtual Switch Properties changes. Failed while removing virtual Ethernet switch." and if I try and add a new one it says "Error applying Virtual Switch Properties changes. Failed while adding virtual Ethernet switch connections." All the VMs are powered off. Thanks though. @bossman - Two are Intel and four are Realtek.

I had to shut down one of my 2012 R2 hosts today. When it came back up, none of the servers it is hosting have network connectivity. The host has six Ethernet ports which are all in one teamed. I have looked at device manager on the host and the "Hyper-V Virtual Ethernet Adapter #2" and the "Hyper-V Virtual Switch Extension Adapter" both have exclamation marks against them. If I go in to properties, both say "This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code31)". The "Virtual Ethernet" then says "{Operation failed} The requested operation was unsuccessful." and the Virtual switch says "An object ID was not found in the file." I have tried rebooting, disabling all the cards and re-enabling them, and removing the team and re-creating it. No difference. I've had a Google and will continue to do so, but if anyone has an answer that would be great. Thank you Stuart

Raspberry Pi foundation are apparently on E463 but I can't see it on the map. Did a CTRL F and Adobe couldn't find it either!

I know problems with memory usually makes beeps, but have you a module from another known good laptop?

Their TV advert annoys me. Why advertise that you can get 200mb by showing someone watching a couple of YouTube clips which would probably work on a 2mb feed?

That's my thinking.
