Morning, I'm currently running Exchange 2010 SP3 on a 2008 box. I have setup Exchange 2016 on a 2016 box. I have migrated a test mailbox from the old server to the new one. - If I try to log in to the old server using the account I have migrated, after entering the username and password it comes up with a message saying I'd be better off using the URL of the new server. Lovely! - If I try to log in to the new server using the account I have migrated, all works as it should. - If I try to log in to the new server using an account which hasn't been migrated, I get an Error 500. I can send and receive emails to and from mailboxes wherever they are. What is my next step to get me able to log in to either server without error? Is there a way of auto-forwarding the login process to the correct server depending on where the mailbox is? And ultimately, how do I make the new server the main frontend/send and receive server? Obviously this is a live environment at the moment so I'm a little twitchy about making too many changes! Thank you Stuart

I've got students accounts set with a home area set so they get an N drive which is directed to a server. Then in GPO, under Folder Redirection I've got "Documents" set to "Redirect to the user's home directory". Then, Pictures etc are all set to "Follow the Documents folder". We keep getting kids saving to the appdata folder on the C drive because they click "Documents" or "Pictures" in the left panel when saving (rather than their N drive) which saves locally as the folders haven't redirected. The network drive always maps though. Is it worth pointing the "Documents" folder to the same place as their home drive is set to rather than telling it to use the home directory? Anyone else do it the way we currently are without issue? I'm assuming it's simply processing the GPO before the drive has mapped for some reason and therefore not managing to redirect properly? OK, this problem is persisting and I'm out of ideas. I have also found another couple of users who can log in to HAP+ but can't get to the booking system or drives but are in exactly the same security groups and OUs as those who it does work for. Please help. Stuart

A student has brought in his graphics tablet to use in his Creative iMedia lessons. We had one a couple of years ago where we just installed the drivers and all was well. This one isn't. If we just plug the tablet in, it works at a very basic level. Windows just uses it as a mouse, but the buttons on the pen don't work. If I install the software/drivers which come with it then it works fully for an admin account, but strangely doesn't work at all for a student account. It even tells you that it isn't plugged in when you run the tablet software. Windows won't use it as a mouse. Latest versions from the website make no difference. It's a "XP-PEN Star G640". Anyone got any suggestions? I assume it's a restriction I have in place somewhere, but what? We're running various group policies and Impero. Thank you Stuart

I think most people would see it as a great idea, the issue is they didn't tell anyone they were doing it. No-one is accusing them of sniffing inappropriate data or anything underhand, it's just we like full transparency.

We have a student who has a HP x2 10-p00na 10" touch screen Windows 10 laptop with a detachable keyboard. It cost us £200 ex VAT. It's now struggling and the battery doesn't last so I'm looking for a replacement. I simply can't find anything! Anyone got any suggestions please? Ideally I want to be able to attach it to the domain as we don't have iPads or Chromebooks anywhere else so don't want to start having to manage just the one. Thank you Stuart

Anyone playing it? Thoughts? Will it last? I have a 13 year old so I've been playing (that's my excuse). Seems to work quite well. We don't have any adventures on our school land, but the leisure centre next door has three regularly popping up!
