Moving on from the right click open file location have you discovered that if you click the network breadcrumb in the redirected start menu explorer window location the little darlings can do an AD search unless you set a GPO at User policy -> admin templates -> desktop active directory -> maximum size of active directory searches ->0

Ok, I've got a quandry here. I want to use a redirected start menu, and it works OK except for one thing. If you right click on a redirected item go -> more -> open file location, it serves up the whole file share in explorer. The students can't go anywhere or do anything because ABE is on, and they only have read access, but it's still annoying. If I remove the redirection and point it back to local, right click -> more -> open file location brings up the expected 'this action has been cancelled due to restriction in effect'. Am I missing something?

I've always been into it in a small way, but I had most of my music digitally for sheer convenience. My FIL has recently downsized and has donated my Wife and I his 70's HiFi setup which is really very, very special (it cost about the same as a family car in the 70's) so we've got into it in a big way now and we use it as a way of destressing when the child has gone to bed.

Does UEV work with 10 Education or just 10 Enterprise? I'm just starting to look at the finishing touches to my 10 deployment and the idea of using UEV has hit me... But I've currently used the 10 Edu branch, will it work? I've spoken to licensing and I can apply to have Ent instead of Edu for no further cost, but I don't want to have to redo my image!

We got hold of a couple of ex cashless catering ELO 17" touchscreens. They were £15 each and we had some logitech 640x480 webcams lying around that did just fine. The pass is printed in the office and the receptionist hands the pass to the visitor with a lanyard. It's all driven off an access database I found online with a file copy job to a tablet every 10 minutes, or manually, for the fire list.

I would agree with this. I've only not done it like this because I needed a quick solution once upon a time and I've not been bothered to change it as it works smoothly (if slowly) across all my various OS' and hardware platforms. When I finally go fully w10 next summer I'll do a single scheduled task GPO.

The auto deletion function in GPO has never worked properly to my knowledge. In XP and 7 it frequently just didn't do anything, 8x and 10 show the behaviour you have described. I have a scripted DelProf task on every startup for machines with SSDs. It adds around 2-30 seconds to boot time depending on how heavily the machines have been used since it last ran.

MS Themselves recommend against 64 bit office!

As far as I'm concerned they are a deprecated technology. They were never quite as good as IWBs. Sure they ended up a bit cheaper than a board+projector install, but these days unless you have need of a very specific install an interactive screen is a much better proposition. Easier and cheaper to install, more accurate, lower TCO as no lamps to change/filters to clean and frequently comprehensive software bundles included.

I go out to quote on the understanding that the job will be supply and terminate but not run. Most of the companies I work with are happy for it to work like that.

Yeah, you're looking at about another 2 or 3k to get a pair of half decent switches/rear modules to support >1gbps/interconnects and server adapters.

You aren't going to get a whole one for that... You can get a storage array for that, but you'll need to spend about the same again filling it with disks, buying a fabric/switch with deep packet buffers and then interconnects, even if you can go with DA cables. I'd just whack some more WD red in what you've got unless you can make the case for more money.
