I don't read too many reviews, let alone pay attention to comparisons, so... how can you show an honest picture by comparing a glorified demo to a full game? I'd take Race Driver over Forza any day, but then I always loved it's first iterations, the TOCA series.

Picking up the PS3 update tonight... GT5: Prologue online tomorrow.

It might explain a lot of things if they were in charge though And they can take the blame too They want to do less marking etc so they can install more software?

We have a fair few... I know there's at least 6 hanging around in student hands.. might be nearer 12... Most of the one's we've given students haven't been seen near our hands yet except when we migrated from our own proxy to using the SWGfL for wireless devices. We've got one hooked up on XP, it's got no space left on it... can't remember what is/isn't installed on it, but we used the Fundamentals install for Legacy PC's to cut the size back... It's been added to our domain so it's picked up the top level software (Equitrac Client, Securus and some other teeny tiny apps), but it works well I think.. I'm not really aware of any issues... all the kids like them, they'd prefer them to disk drives, but that's so they can listen to music while they work - a valid point, but easily solved with some polite questions and patience I guess. The 8gb XP versions should be quite handy, though IIRC, a fully updated XP and Office 2003 won't fit on an 8gb drive... (was a few years ago when I last tried so I might have had some other stuff on it)

Thanx, downloaded and now gone bald When adding new tickets: ADODB.Fields error '800a0ea5' Fields update failed. For further information, examine the Status property of individual field objects. /helpdesk/incs/functions.asp, line 330 Ideas? it worked previously in the older version, 0.9.4, using the same email settings - CDOSYS (Windows Server 2003)... Had another error before as well about: Incorrect Integer " something something 'addedbyid' but it seems to have just vanished (unless its preceeded by the adodb.fields error... #----------- Solved now I needed to specify the port, even though we are using port 25.

Desert Strike? with the little helicopter... loved that. Transport Tycoon was my first full PC game... and I still play it today (although I upgraded to the deluxe version now... and now OpenTTD.)

Why would you disallow... something that is disallowed by default? You can choose to have everything unrestricted, except what you say (a blacklist) or allow only the things you want (a whitelist) Whitelists are more secure, but I didn't set one up here (not sure why, it'd have been quicker...) I just use a unrestricted default, with Drives O:\, X:\ and Y:\ (Home and 2 static USBDLM assigned usb drive letters) filtering stuff (the default list didn't apply when I tried it out :S) Works a treat here.

Woo! Party! I didn't hear anything on the night in question - apparently after being kicked out, a load of people went through the village and did some damage up there... Don't venture into the centre often, there's a LOT of kids around, Bovey Tracey alone has about 4 coaches which go to it to pick the kids up and half of them are violent chavs... being fair they're not that bad though... I haven't a clue where that house is though...

rs is often used as the identifier for a RecordSet. the rest executes something... usually it's an ADODB & SQL thing. Looking at what you posted, under the "FindUser" function, it executes the query (specified as cmd.CommandText) against AD to find the specified/active user (didnt bother looking up which)

That was what I was going to mention Dell use them, although they are only attached to the case (never paid attention to laptop fixes..) I only use a static strap when I'm giving a demonstration, or students are doing something, but they're also working on a concrete floor, with an anti-static mat blah blah blah. I don't use them, they're annoying, get in my way and as long as I remember to turn the computer off... it's fine.

Matrox DualHead2Go on a Latitude D820 Laptop (TripleHead2Go works well on them too...)

for your whole page table, 174 + 626 isn't 700, it's 800 In your left nav, the content exceeds the height you've specified, not sure if that means anything though Also on the container for your left nav, there is no valign="top" (probably why it doesn't appear where you want it), there is on the content container though. There's one or two unused tags in there too, whether by design, or by accident. Also at the end, all the tags go a-miss.. ie: you end a column, but start a row, then end a table... Have you considered using padding for the spacing to the left of the content instead of a 3% column... Also using a fixed width for the content nav may be useful since you started. After I did the above: </pre><table width="800" border="0" align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> templates/norden_template/images/lion.png templates/norden_template/images/Logo.jpg templates/norden_template/images/address.jpg </

Did you use the icons at the very bottom to enable the application filtering? I think the issue with Windows core components is fixed now... haven't heard about classrooms being logged off because LSASS can't run because it was blocked Are you using the Net Support toolbar? Do the icons in the left corner of the bar tell you anything useful? (I think it tells you whether things are on/off etc)

http://home.fnal.gov/~jklemenc/dl/AD-MSI-for-Dummies.doc How I learnt Authenticated Users includes Domain Computers - otherwise Computer GPO's wouldn't apply...? (And I read somewhere in TechNet Resources that it does)

SRP doesn't apply to Safe-Mode does it? I thought by default it didn't affect Local Administrators either...?

I'm not too bothered about favourites... Its not going to be an instantaneous thing, I somewhat planned that it'll be really bad if I just decide it's sortable, then delete it from everyone... (I can always link it back... I guess) Outlook isn't a problem for me - so long as people aren't so lazy that they can type in peoples names again so it populates the auto-fill address thingy... All their emails should be setup to remain on Exchange, and when I dot around to sort it all, I can hook up the latpots with RPC over HTTP too. The only major thing is documents/Pictures. Everyone seems to be really happy risking their important documents, but then gets very stressy and I've been called unhelpful by one person because their HDD was badly damaged.... by a flight of concrete stairs.

Do I get to keep the profile in the specified location, after removing from ADUC... So if I need to restore something (which I probably will), I have the profile available still, but only on-demand and via the UNC path?
-
Except when they log on, they'll have that same roaming profile that I don't want. I don't want anyone having a Roaming Profile, except students who share the same Roaming Mandatory Profile.

Hi, I'm just wondering what the best approach and issues there might be for removing roaming profiles. A number of staff here have roaming profiles and its getting a little annoying with certain scripts I've used, having to work out exclusions for these "special" people... its also a bit sluggish logging them on. What's the best way to remove this? just delete the profile path from AD? Will this take the profile with it? What happens on the computer(s) they've logged onto previously, do they get a new profile? or do they use a cached version of the roaming profile? does it update their server-sided profile?
