Im pretty sure it has been.. All i normally do is add it to the domain then restart the computer and log in as a student... then its like all default the computer did have windows vista on and we have taken them down to Xp... This shouldnt be a problem should it?

Hi guys, I'm trying to set up a new computer... (for a new IT suit) The settings will not hold after I log off and back on as a different user And it’s not just program settings; it is everything... even down to the keyboard settings :-( As soon as I login as administrator it works for that user only (administrator) Then when I login as anyone else the setting are not the same... The settings will only hold for administrator.. I have made sure its in the correct place in AD Has anyone had this problem? I could really use some assistance.

What do you get after these are done? anything to say you have done them? I would love some more stuff to put on my CV

Yeah its added to the domain and you can see it in AD Theres a default user profile there ¬_¬ Im not sure what to check for inside the folder though I would assume it would have access due to it being seen on AD and due to Students and test users being able to log in

Maybe Its a faulty drive? Or apply default settings then make the HHD drive boot 1st? Do have skype? Set up skype and we can try and sort something?

Maybe you only have one HDD but is there more than one sata port on the motherboard? On ours we had: Sata 0 Sata 1 Sata 2 Sata 3 I changed it from sata 1 to sata 0 Then changed the boot type in the bios to legacy That seem to have worked for me... Seens as yours is a laptop Just try changing the boot config to sata legacy

One thing I found with one of our stones is that one or two of the computers where not set up correctly Ive had the same problem- I may be wrong... so please forgive me if I am The sata cable was in port one on the motherboard... See if there’s a port Zero (try it in port Zero) Then make sure the bios is set to legacy... (I think that’s what it’s called) Worth a giving it a try... Let me know if this works

So what im asking is could someone test a skype call with me? Ideally this will be tomorrow Midday after I have set up the webcam I have at home. The chances are im wrong... but have you tried deleteing the local profile? then restarting then logging in again or remove the profile path in active directory and see if it works? at least that way you can find out if its the computer or the profile

The only problem a have now is after a scan its saying the computer name is the serial number The Serial number is no where to been seen.. it says its the computer name EG: *IP ADDRESS* MAC: 00:00:00:00:00 Vendor: *MODLE* Serial: 6th-form-photoc when 6th-form-photoc is the computers name and the serial number cant been seen :-(

Maybe worth us keeping in contact :-) Also I do a complete nework scan but with some of the computers it comes up with the computer name in the serial number part.. and wont pick the serial number up... Have you seen this before? Ive LIke this -------->
