An easy one but its driving me mad. Where in Group Policy is the setting to show the user what group policies are being applied during startup? Its driving me mad this morning as half my machines do it and the others show only "please wait" but need to see what is causing a hold up. I keep staring at both but can not see the difference! Please help before I go nuts (and its only Monday). Ta all

None about and by cheap I mean under the £100 point. My DT department are a pain and don't understand the concept of buying anything new when it worked 10 years ago perfectly well.

Wondering if anyone has direct experience of Win 7&8 profiles vs mandatory? We have 8 here which produces very small roaming profiles (about 500kb somehow).

Morning all, I use roaming profiles here but the prospect of mandatory profiles has come up as a possible way to increase login speed across the site. My question is does anyone have experience of both roaming and mandatory profiles and would you say mandatory profiles are much faster than roaming? I know there are a lot of variations to consider but just after a general response (yes much faster, no real difference etc...) Thanks all in advance for your opinions.

Hi all, Is there a walkie talkie device out there which works over wifi? I tried various iOS apps although mixed to poor success and just want a push to talk device over wifi exactly like a walkie talkie. I don't want Skype, face time or anything you have to dial.... just push to talk over a mobile device. Thanks

Hello all, I am looking for a free / cheapish solution to let me know how many times a computer is logged into. Who logs into it is not important, preferably I want a sheet of numbers with "X logins since X" and it has to be easy to read and saved to a shared area. Any suggestions? Thanks all

You need to use a Chromebook. The godsend to schools.

all sorted now. Seems after about 15 minutes it self sorted its self somehow. As soon as I performed the IIS reset I tried and that's when I had the problem.

Hello all, Running Exchange 2010 SP2 and have just enabled users with OWA to be able to change expired passwords however.... Our password policy domain wide is at least 8 characters long and to include at least one number, at least one capitalised letter but the OWA insists on the user including a symbol too. Is this just "the exchange way" or can it be edited at all? Thank you

Im my experience, what Capita call support in general isn't what I would call support Back on topic though, Solus 3 installs SIMS / FMS very well if you havn't made the jump yet. I remember we used to have problems installing it but think it was because I wasn't running it as an admin or didn't have UAC at the time or something silly. Long story short, it was my settings.

I'm 99% sure SIMS supported windows 8 since the last Spring update but we had the same connect.ini issue here and used the same fix.

Well said post there reedstec. We rolled out Windows 8 to our all of our 800 computers and all of our admin staff (30-40) and they are all happy. Not one student computer problem so far and once you show them how to search and pin items, admin staff are fine. It is strong, stable and easy to pick up and use. I would urge the haters to spend a week with it and doubt you will be going back once you have your little finger trained to hover over the windows key.

Very happy with the product but will not be buying from Microsoft UK again The age old question will be how can Apple laser etch anything you want onto an iPad and ship it out when Microsoft store find it this hard to box a few things up and post them? Morning all, Does anyone know if I am right in saying that users of Lightspeed filtering can not view an embedded youtube video on a webpage (via youtube education)? The video plays correctly on youtube education but refuses to appear on the site. I am fairly sure I read this when it was put in and makes sense but thought I would throw it out to the community just in case. Thank you
