bah my 2008R2 just did not like the admx files. Looking forward to Jan when I get my new DC's up and running.

Have you got a 2012 R2 domain controller? I tried to copy the ADMX files over and it spat them out. On your main subject I have dabbled with a test network at home and the xml desktop control is a wonderful addition.

Morning all, Does anyone else have problems getting Android devices to accept the profile download with a ZeroIT login for Ruckus guest access? Apple and Windows Phone devices have little problems but I find android either claims it works and does nothing or crashes out. We are all upto date with releases. Ta

I upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion last summer and although it looked like it went well, totally crippled the profile manager so had to rebuild the whole thing. I would say its easier to perform a fresh install rather than an upgrade.

Morning all, Wonder if a few of you can perform the following test in SIMS for me please? Goto Focus Lesson Monitor Edit Marks Change group type to Year Group and search Select a year group (for the test, lets say year 11) Let me know how long it takes for the screen to appear Mine is about 17 seconds but we are running on an older 2008 server which is due to be upgraded in a few months when some other projects fall into line. I have a couple of staff who use google drive and have downloaded the drive sync which I have no problem with however my problem is is greates a local folder on their profile which causes huge delays in login time. Any thoughts how to redirect that folder rather than automating its deletion? Redirecting it to their home directory is most likly number one option. Ta

Opinions please. Since I took over we have had an ISA server running our routing and although works, I am very aware at how old it is. Can someone tell me what a modern day version is please? We don't have much routing to do. A handful at best of basically "you come from this address so you go to this server" so nothing fancy required. I assume its a hardware solution now?

Well that's what I was thinking but just wanted to be sure there wasn't a valid reason. We have about 20ish printers and nothing too heavy. To me its a pain to use a subnet as I can never get the auto alerts to work behind one.

When setting up a print server, is it recommended the printers are either on a separate VLAN or subnet? Im going to move the print server I inherited soon and it was subnetted by the guy before me and wonder just how important it is in the grand scheme of things? Thanks

Morning, Hope this is the best part of the forum to post this question on (Our AD is 2008R2). I have four domain admins but one of them has recently had their active directory on their desktop start missing some items. First of all groups stopped showing correctly for them and now other aspects are vanishing. AD is working correctly for everyone else and on the server but wonder what would cause her account to be so picky. We tried clearing the local cache and still nothing and the problem follows her around to other computers. Any suggestions are welcome. Ta all

Afternoon all, I need to upgrade my domain controllers from 2008R2 to 2012R2 and although I have read up on it and watched many Youtube videos which show it as quite easy, am still a little unconfident in the process as I have never really upgraded a DC before. Would anyone out there either have pointers on it or is it really as easy as it seems? Thanks
