  1. We're doing the update tomorrow across the MAT, so that will be fun. Hopefully no-one will shout too loudly on Thursday morning
  2. Depends if you enable the online archive or not. If you don't, it just moves it to another folder within your mailbox. Online archive creates a new mailbox that is outside of the 50Gb limit
  3. I had an issue with HAP the other day (No drives showing), but after doing a .Net update on the server and rebooting it, it worked fine. Guess you've already tried the "turn it off"?
  4. We enforce a mailbox retention policy across the trust, so our accounts never get that full as the most that the majority can keep is 1 year's worth (select staff get up to 3 years)
  5. Well the Smart Hub 2 should have the lan ports in yellow on right hand side at the back of the router, and the DSL port is grey on the left just under the wifi details,
  6. They only put metal shims between the pillars and the beam and sloped the rails up at each side... could have done that for a few more inches. Lot easier than digging the road as they would have had to redo all the pillars that way
  7. tbh your incoming line regardless of it being ADSL or FTTC still only uses the same 1 pair of cables, so yep they just change you over on the exchange to say "go via this profile now". You can get BT to come and change your master socket so it has a built in filter, but it's still fine with the old 1980's style pre master socket and plug in filter
  8. You can plug an RJ11 into a RJ45 socket, don't think it's using pins 1, 2, 7 & 8 You should be able to use it on your existing adsl, it just won't give you any more speed than you currently get
  9. BT Fibre still uses the normal broadband socket, as it's only fibre to the cabinet, and then copper to your house. You will get a new hub sent through by BT to plug in on change over date, but otherwise you don't have to change anything internally compared to what you have
  10. they could have just gone for the extra 4 inches and been safe
  11. Does sound like you really need to get Hyper-V cluster setup quickly depending on how your data is being stored in case you primary NIC starts to suffer, as then you could do a live migration without downtime while fixing the host.
  12. Which version of Ubuntu did you use? Using 18.04 LTS earlier, and docker version told me to go do one with the instructions I was using, and a self install had apache doing the same. Old version of xibo worked fine before
  13. In our case @fiza, we kept the teaching staff listed in the student GAL, but removed all the support staff addresses. Doesn't stop them typing our details in, but helps keeps the governors addresses away from them.
  14. We used this guide previously to setup a different GAL for students, and apply it to their mailbox policy as we create their accounts https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/educloud/2013/04/15/alumni-address-book-policy-in-office-365-education/
  15. Yep @DJ-1701, I've got myself a nice glide that was addressed to you. Na, nothing in internal post yet
  16. Or just look at the last couple of pages @mavhc http://www.edugeek.net/forums/educational-software/193723-examwritepad-84.html#post1801509
  17. See we just have a couple of folders for the application. All our laptops are standalones with no network connectivity (even removed the wifi card) so we only enable spell checking on the specific laptop the entitled student will use. We have 2 networked copy. 1 with the same general settings, but with different default file paths to the laptop, and one that's just for staff to use that doesn't have full screen/candidate details enforced. Seems much simpler to just have 2 folders with 1 having a spelling enabled config, and another that doesn't and just launch the one you need for the student, like the old KISS principle.
  18. Our root folder has basic permission, such as a AD group that has read access in case we need to allow a member of staff access to a students folder. Then on each students "root" folder we have special permissions assigned for their account, basically to ensure that anything within documents they have full control off, but no ability to delete the document folder just in case they somehow manage to see it.
  19. In each of our Student folders, we have a Documents folder which contains their work, and also a Profile.V2 for their W7 mandatory profile For the Folder Redirection in GPO, we just set it as which then just shows as the Drive letter and not the UNC path Not really much need to use homeshare and homedrive, as long as homedrive is configured in AD.
  20. Depends if you have carpet or laminate flooring
  21. On the initial message, select no and carry on, as it does not need to update the NTFS permissions
  22. We moved away from the separate shares to just a single one with the student folders below and map to them as posted above as it cut down on a lot of the overhead when creating new accounts. If you just share pupildrives folder, you can update the homedrive in bulk using the %username% in the path field (\\FS\PupilDrives$\2019\%username%\documents)
  23. This is an option within the config file, both to turn off the check as you type, and the spelling button on the tool bar.
  24. Free glide when you place an order for a free pair of socks?
  25. Please no feet pictures, it might be the nail in the coffin for some of the feet puns. At least a few people have been in-step with them *runs*
