you can force course creators to have the same look as students but not the other way round i think

is the teacher a course creator? i am pretty sure the default behaviour is to only show courses you are enrolled on to unless you have some admin functionality. dont forget students can view all course from the link.

IMO Moodle.One reason because you can do what ever you like with it. and those VLE's that insist on hosting the solution are at the bottom of the list in my eyes (great for primaries or schools lacking support though). During school hours we could have 60+ active users at once, evening time i would be suprised if it ever passed 15 active users. uploading files is pretty instant on a local server, instead of minutes.

We'v not purchased any inkjets for a while and our loverly R300 in our Art Gallery just died(the r300 is the 1st espon printer in my eyes to match the build quality of the old 740s!). so what are people replacing/installing in those places where a big laser is just overkill or just doesn't have room?

I think ts client should be a tool of every learning platform. Giving students access to apps they might not have at home for example. But like a few people have said you won't have the features of a vle that are so tightly intergrated.

Anyone got a good supplier of microAtx power supplies? Found 1 but it has a big fan on the side and was unsure if it would fit due to the heat sink for the CPU being prtty close.

you could run a cron job to auto update/install? dont know if these cammands could be scripted, sorry bit out of touch on mac side these days http://macenterprise.org/content/view/117/130/ edit again: thinking about it i would probably not want a WSUS updating method, some updates can be very large and could cause some unwanted outcomes, i would advise to use the above commands with a tool such as Apple Remote Desktop to send the unix command to groups of machines. create Saved tasks for each room and then you can choose when to do it at a click of a button you'd be crazy to deploy service packs on windows while people are using the computers!

last 15 mins of every day i tend to debrief with Danny(my techi) to see how he got on with the days jobs, we both carry old school clipboards with printouts of our tickets on, Normally we spend this time adjusting the next days work load. Definatly helps us keep organised and on task as we rarely have to come back to our pc's after doing a ticket. we update and close tickets on mass when we return.

im not being rude to this teacher, but she's of the mature nature and wont be able to read those tiny keys let alone the screen!

Dont ask me why..... Im after a netbook for a teacher as her main computer (her 15inch is too big and heavy) and apparently she likes the idea of a netbook as her main computer...... personally i think she would be very happy with a 13inch laptop but someone has given the idea of the netbooks, although i think she'll hand it back after 7 days and i have been asked to order a netbook for her. So, what would you give a teacher? is there any with XP Pro?

only thing i can suggest is try it. if it doesn't work scrap the idea and change the 2meg limit in php. of course you can set the max limit to 2meg in the amdin panel and change the upload limit when you need to upload scorm files.

theres some nice mods/blocks alrady but some will need a extra bit of modding. going to have a bit of writing new and use exsisting mods if im honest for example there is a nice mod/hack that allows you to hide/show courses. Also Students here also gave some feedback on the mypage, something they wanted was a block that told them how many unread email they had in their inbox. which would also be nice to have site wide i guess.

We have it enabled but dont really use it at the moment. planning on modifying the page a bit so it can give students a better idea on their progress in courses.

ok got things connecting. when i 1st started the install i had done a 14hr day! and this was at home and before i went to bed. just went through instructions again seems i hadn't installed tdsodbc, thought i had but oh well. connects now lets see how i get on with the rest of the installation now!

true could be something a patch has fixed or something he messed up orginally
