As I've said with keyless entry you are bound to have this problem, unless we go to fingerprint, retina or some chip implanted into our body. We want convenience in things we do but security and convenience don't always go hand in hand, note don't always.

That is a good point with keyless entry but if you have keyless you could put the keys in a safe container that blocks the signal. You can't simply wave a wand and open a lock that can only be opened by a key, unless you are a wizard.

I follow the Auotmatrics MTrack youtube channel, find it quite interesting, I'm no way connected jus find the process interesting. They offer solutions for Cars, Plant, Motorbike, etc. and can easily call on the police to help recover stolen property. With the tech around is it as bad as the joy riding days of old? personally I'd of thought it would be more organized i.e. property stolen to sell on, break up or use in other crime. Not saying that cars are no longer taken jus for the fun of it. I had my 1st car stolen in 1989 it was defo a jus nick to get them home it wasn't worth much not even scrap and paint was 15 shades of rust, lol. It still meant a lot to me thou as was my first car and only a month after I'd bought it. Was found about 15 miles away in front of a church in good order, they didn't even take the stereo which was not much in itself and I jus drove it straight back home after putting some fuel in.

In Windows is there a section for Manage known networks (go into WiFi in the Network & Internet settings), can you remove/forget the known network on the till with the issue?

What environment are you in? Also what existing change auditing is there on your existing systems? Our helpdesk system includes a change management process, the changes go to a change board. Not everything is put on in our department it as this would be daft and unmanageable, we'd spend 36 hours a week doing Change Requests and the change management team would spend 36 hours a week going through the changes we proposed. But we have a pretty good idea of changes we can make on the fly and those that should be raised as a possible risk, change to service or change to user experience.

Watching too much Linus, lol. I had to upgrade the RAM and add a CPU in 12 blade servers at the last place. Bought my Dewalt hammer/drill 5 years back now on a special offer. I would not of said I use it a lot but have certainly had it do some heavy drilling including hole cutting wooden worktops 140mm diameter holes to point of stalling the drill a number of times, still on the original batteries but I have a torch too which uses same batteries. Paid half the cost of the dewalt for electric power drills that have not been as good or lasted as long.

Create a different OU and create a dedicated Service account with the delegated permissions (not domain admin) to deploy the newly built PCs into that OU. You can use MDT to install the software before you deploy. I did thhis before in a previous employment, deployed a VM, installed the software, captured the image and then deployed. This made re-imaging a PC a 30min job and we used to do PC labs with 30 PCs in half an hour. The deployment literally asked for the PC name once the correct credentials and image was selected then done it's thing.

Also a pain when users left them selves logged in and then forgot their password, that and users leaving projectors blearing at night was enough for us to do nightly shutdowns at a previous employment and it got the backing of SMT.

First address in a subnet i.e. 192.168.1.0/24 (subnet address) can be used in certain scenarios but best advice is against it, last address is the broadcast and cannot be used. A vent at the bottom of the door and one at the top might suffice. Failing that maybe a AC infinity AV cabinet fan or similar, maybe with a temp sensor so you know the heat without opening the door. Are there any noise restrictions?

Thanks for update. I could not see anything either but I would not put it past them. SMS is my least favorite and Push notifications is close.

I did find with the CX switches we had that I could not see the firmware but it was a simple matter of ringing them up, logging a call and giving a serial number then it appeared. But yes it used to be a much simpler process.

Add the HMRC and Congestion charge to that list at least.

So 100M to fix on top of the other 600M+ they still owe due to issues found 10+ years back. Feel for anyone impacted by this as there no doubt will be.

Dodgy link between switches? We saw the same between 4 of our cores that use MSTP for redundancy in a mesh formation. The preferred spanning tree route based on priority was changing regularly within an hour.

Generally the less SSIDs the better. You should be able to use radius on the same SSID for the Staff and Students then you could designate different vlans for each based on AD groups if need be. I have that at home, some devices IoT devices of mine don't support 5Ghz so I have a IoT SSID that only supports 2.4Ghz but another SSID that uses MSPK via Radius. I can then put any device that supports both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz on the same more RADIUS SSID and designate it's vlan to be the same as the IoT network via radius keeping SSIDs down to 2. Both my wired IoT and wireless IoT can use the same vlan.

I'd defo keep IoT on it's own network and allow minimum traffic to your main network only if necessary i.e. DHCP/DNS/NTP etc. via ACL or network firewall. Suggest at the firewall because it is generally easier to manage the ACL on a firewall rather than a switch and the rules can be on one device with the possibility of better more in depth logging, troubleshooting etc. :-)
