Buffalo used to make wireless access points with a built in 4 port switch, however I've never seen an AP with more ports. You also get a lot of wireless routers with 4 port switches (never seen one with more), you could disable the router and then DHCP sever and use them as a switch/AP. Personaly I think running cable makes most sence (but I havn't seen the calss room). What OS are you using, if it's XP are you binning the manufacturers softwarein favour of windows Zero wireless.

Agreed, I would very much doubt it's uses a mechanical shutter (it would block the words). We bin our HP projects at any sign of trouble. If you're anywhere near Gloucestershire, I might have vp6121 you can take to bits.

If it's bare metal it should be fine. You might find that a scrap metal merchant might actualy pay a small amount of money for them, or your local tip might accept them. Might be worth asking your D&T department what they do with their off cuts.

We're replacing many of our HP projectors. We've found in Some situations a Toshiba X2000 will. There's also a compact NEC model we've had some luck with. One of our suppliers has recommended the Tosh T95, they claim it's got such wide range it can be used to replace almost any other projector (havn't tried one yet).

If your not using it in a production environment any old PC will do. It doesn't need to be a purpose build server. Another option is to use VM Ware, which lets you create virtual PCs on your desktop.

I know it's not cheap, but how about an IP enabled KMV.

We've got a OneLan system here. It has a feature where NetTopBoxes can be set up as slaves that just dupplicate what another NTB is doing. EDIT: It's explained better here.

Tryed http://www.netbootdisk.com/? Another option (if your despirate) would be to partition the hard drives and then use a Linux live CD to copy the image onto the spare partition (either using a file share or an FTP server). Then run ghost localy.

I'll echo what people are saying about needing to use it everyday to get a feel for it. I've had Linux on dual boots for years (I even once had 4 different OS installs on my PC) and I never ever bothering using it in the end. Last time I had to rebuild my PC my XP disk disapeared off the face of the earth so I installed Linux instead. I now use it daily at home. I use PCLinuxOS, ubuntu wouldn't play ball with my graphics.

Download wol.exe. Use Angry IP scanner (another free download) to grab a list of all your mac addresses. Bung them all into a batch file and use sheduled tasks to run it. I did some instructions a while back, I'll see if I can find them.

You could probably solve this just by altering the permissions on the desktop folder in the all users profile. How many computers do you have and what sort of setup?

This might be worth trying. A lot of machine BIOSs manage the USB floppy so it still works even if ghost doesn't support USB.
