[windows software] Windows Server Virtual Licences
K.C.Leblanc replied to Stuart_C's topic in Licensing Questions
I believe Microsoft let you download 180 day trials of Sever2k8. -
It would help if you posted the broken code.

You do relise that the hard drives aren't officialy user replacable on the SMS100. If you have a drive failure they advance swap the whole unit and you have to copy your data over. If you're planning on keeping it when it goes out of warranty this could be a major issue.

At my old school the NM presented a cat 5 cable in a sealed bag to the staff saying it was being sent off for DNA testing. The reason why, oh someone had looped the network, in the staff room.

I came home to find a massive dent in the side of my car and a note explaining to recycling lorry had done. I'm minded just not to bother doing anything about it. My car's a complete shed anyway.

The OP said on-board, so I discounted an additional card.

Are you sure you're thinking of the DL360 G6, that server doesn't have 10gb just twin 1gb.

Our business manager has a sign that she often fixes to her office door. It says only to knock if the school is on fire.

Wait, is Urea what I think it is? Will there be a new industry in take the piss.
-
I will, generaly my feeling are that deisels don't make sense unless you're doing a high millage (although they do make more sence in heavy 4x4s due to their extra torque). However since the car is provided through motobility my folks only have to pay for the fuel so diesel makes sense. EDIT: Although my general thoughts on the car industry and the way legislation is influencing it is that you're better off with an older car.
-
Eek, my folks are looking at getting a Citroen HDi on motobility. There pressent motability car has done less then 20k in 3 years. I think I'll have to do some digging.

I've got this sorted. There were some files missing from Payloads\AdobeInDesign6AppBase-mul. I suspect the folder exists on both discs but on disk 1 doesn't hold the full install files. In my haste I didn't merge the folders when copying the disks over to my server.

Which version of ghost are you using? If you alter the autoexec.bat within your ghost boot file you can add some switches onto the end of ghost.exe. With ghost 7 we use the following line to automaticaly join our computers to a session called WELOVEROY. GHOST.EXE -fni -clone,src=@MCweloveroy,dst=1 -sure EDIT: The -fni switch isn't related to joining a session it's something that was needed to make ghost work with some of our PCs. EDITEDIT: If you met Roy, you'd understand.

What printers are you using? Some might let you restrict which I.P. adresses they'll recieve print jobs from, you could tie it down to just your printer server. If you're really determined (and have managed switches) you could also put all your printers in a separate vLan and then multihome your printer server in both vLans. EDIT: It also might be worth seeing what happens when you disable 'bonjour' on the printers.

I'm probably a bit too laid back about my car. There was no where to park in my road when I last drove it so it's parked in the next street. I haven't actually seen it for over a week.

I havn't got time to go through the whole thread, but I will echo I've generaly had good experiences with Stone. The main thing is when you phone thier support people and say it's a problem with the motherboard or the PSU, they will sent an engineer with a motherboard and a PSU. HP will make you wait on the phone half an hour and will expect to just send out a PSU and book another call if the computer ends up needing a motherboard.

Well said, We need a back to basics approach, children need to understand the proper boundaries when dealing with strangers. I was told if I was spoken to by a stranger you were civil but under no circumstance would you go with them or take sweets from them. It was drilled into me at primary school, and I suspect was no different from what my parents and grandparents had been taught. Of course it's not in the SATs so I wouldn't be suppised it isn't even mentioned unless someone desided to have an 'inititive'.

Broc, you're a genius.
