  1. There are plenty of consumer grade DVD players that have a USB sockets, most will probably support MP3 playback. Philips DVP3360 | DVD player - with HDMI | Richer Sounds Another option might be to get some cheap MP3 players, the kids could upload their files to the MP3 players which can then be fairly easily connected to the AMP.
  2. Good point, our Sanyos produce MP4 files which aren't natively supported by Movie Maker XP.
  3. I don't know if KS1 would manage them, but Sanyo Xactis are fairly robust.
  4. I'm coming round to that view. When doing my weakly naughty trawl I came accross a record from a yr 7 student who'd searched for "Homosexuals Being Abused". It was obviouse that they just wanted pictures for PSHE, but my first though was would would happen if they attempted the search at home. I passed it up to the assistant head who got the student's HOY to phone home.
  5. Dear George Osboure Re: That big problem. William Hill are offering odds of infinity to one on Wales winning the world cup. I belive it would be financialy astute for the treasury to place a smaller wager on this outcome. Further more I think we need to ask the Queen to extend her influence over our knights of the realm. She needs to write to Sir Jimmy Savile asking if he can fix it for Wales to win the world cup. Your sincely, Kevin C. Leblanc III P.S. If there's enough left over after paying back the national debt, can I have a stealth rocket car with leather seats?
  6. What odds can I get on Wales winning the competion?
  7. Facebook works fine for me on SWGfL in Gloucestershire. We have also used keepvid in the past. Your users are logging onto the proxy arn't they? The proxy only becomes unfiltered once they've authenticated. I've also found some times if an attempt has been made to access a site before authenticating you need to refresh the site after you've authenticated.
  8. Do you have any driver letter restrictions? USE DLM, is an excellent tool for making USB drive letter assignment more predictabled. We've always gone down the card reader route, instead of issuing cables.
  9. Two hard drive caddies, 8 Exotic serials cables (most of which have been used once), 20 Old note pads, Stolen pens, Old mobile phone, Ink cartridges, A VHS video about Collage, Oh wait, these are my drawers.
  10. ?????? So how does this fit in with VMWare Consolidated backup?
  11. Have you tried poking it, it's a simple being without aggression, which in my book makes it an idea candidate for poking.
  12. We got an email from Gloucestershire CC about it, but it was sent to the school's admin email adderess so it took a while to cross our desk.
  13. We've been using Smarter Interactive for years, they're very good. Smarter Interactive.
  14. Have a look here; Home Page Your LEA almost certainly holds this licence (although you should show due dilgence by confirming this with them). EDIT: Also note in does not include Sky Channels.
  15. It's entirely down to what you're contract says, probably the best people to ask is the LEA HR department (I assume you don't want to ask your current employer).
  16. All HP servers here, excellent kit. I think the last one we bought came from Pro Brand. HP don't really do direct sales, they expect you to go through a reseller. This does however make it nice and easy to get like for like quotes.
  17. @russdev Weren't various people complaining edugeek was becoming more like a social networking site.
  18. I though we'd known that for quite a while now.
  19. We moved out when we had a new carpet put down. I destroyed the opposition in the "who car get themselves up and running on a dodgy laptop" contest. EDIT: Vegas managed to pick out one with a knacked backlight.
  20. Then they are mistaken.
  21. It means the stated sallary is what you would be paid if the job was full time, 52 weeks a year. In this case the job is term time only so the pay will be adjusted to allow for the holidays.
  22. That's nothing, I'm going a hypervised cluster of RISC OS supercomputers running on an Amiga 500.
