No you can't edit the default ones, I think you can copy them, then they become yours to edit.... -
Sorry should of said, I have the SSD firmware as a windows exe (but can't run that on a SAN) but wanted to update the Storage Array FW at the same time....which is linked to an entitlement....

Article: Got a HPE SAS SSD? Patch it now!
Ex-MGSTech replied to ZeroHour's topic in Legacy CMS Comments
Anyone know how to UD the FW in a SAN? the firmware update software is all designed to run on a host OS? and if your servers are out of warranty....you can't fix them either as no entitlement GRRRRR -
I've one affected drive in my SAN, but even though the unit is still under warranty we have no active support contract...thus we have no entitlement to download the fix !! WTAF? Plus looking at the SSD firmware update, its all packaged around updating a drive in a server, not a SAN! Anyone know what the actual firmware file is called?

Afternoon all, We use a package called Inventry for visitors to school and in general its excellent at this task. It also allows students to “sign in” when they are late via a touch screen. It then has the ability to write these “late marks” back into the SIMS attendance. It has a function to also allow students to sigh out during the school day and receive a “printed pass” if they are challenged whilst out of school. However, whilst it records the sign out information within the software program, it cannot write it back into SIMS as there is nowhere that SIMS could record/display this data. We are interested in how schools manage this process? • Do you do this manually? • Have you bits of paper everywhere? • Do your students have to sign out? And if not how do you track who is in/out of school at any one time? • If your students sign out, how do they do this? • Can they sign out at more than one location? • Does the system/process your use work reliably? All input gratefully received! Thanks Steve

This is the response from our reseller:- HI Stephen, Yes Adobe are going to be phasing out the Adobe K-12 device licensing by the end of 2019 and customers will be moved to the user licensing instead. The user licensing has only been released this year and is a lot cheaper than the device licensing (off the top of my head it’s about £4.10 - £4.20 per license) but there is a minimum purchase of 500 licenses. You would need to cover each person (staff and students) who would need access to the software but there is no need to license everyone unless you think they will all need access? One advantage is you’d be able to use the Adobe admin user console to control and manage the licenses which is easier than the current way of distributing the device licensing. (see attached) I’ve already had a couple of schools who wanted to change to the user licensing anyway as they have saved money on the renewal. Your renewal is due on xxxxxx which means I’ll be able to quote from the June 1st and will see if I’m still able to get pricing for both options at the time or not. So only 1500+ accounts to create and manage, not to mention the GDPR side of this!

SAR during school holidays
Ex-MGSTech replied to gdrinkall's topic in Data Protection & Information Handling
Just finished my GDPR Practitioners course, no exceptions for anyone! SAR MUST be actioned within 30 calendar days (not even working days) We were told (again by a speaker from the ICO) that we must have in place the facility for staff to be recalled in the event of a SAR Your only clock stopper is validation of the data subject as step 1 is recognition you've had a SAR, followed by verification of the subjects identity...by means you see fit.... [sims] Sophos Intercept X preventing SIMS.net install on Windows 10
Ex-MGSTech replied to kennysarmy's topic in MIS Systems
"There is now a work around for this and a full fix will be released shortly. Currently to resolve the issue if you turn off CIX whilst doing the install and then re- enable once installed this does not cause the problem and resolves the issues. This is a temporary work around but they are working on a whitelisting patch shortly." Sent direct to me in response to purchasing Sophos! -
We use Epson Ethernet projectors, saves all the hassle and then anything can connect to them across the LAN. Steve
