Hi, We have a user who has tried to align some of his work to the right (for the address lines etc of a letter) and it seems to work on the actual WritePad itself, but when printing the formatting doesn't stick, and it all moves back to the left. Any ideas? Thanks a lot, loving the software. It has saved my bacon a lot of times so far!

I'll have to drop an email to the school's IT department to ask if they use these pieces of software at all. Maybe it was this? That's what I thought also. Thanks all for replying, I've let the member of staff know that it's not something that can be done natively in SIMS.

That's also what I thought. To be honest, this particular staff member would probably say that it was done elsewhere just to try and make the IT department do it. I've seen that people have modified their config.ini's to add drop downs etc but never before have I seen someone talk about changing the GUI. Thanks for confirming my suspicions! I'll get back to them and ask for more contact details as I don't think that this is something that anybody does.

Yeah that's correct, they're designed for you to allow UAC but it's common practice that UAC is disabled a lot in schools, so I thought it may be worth a mention that this is the case to save hours of head scratching! We tend to go down the Windows 7 calculator program that I suggested, as we have other dependencies that rely on UAC being disabled.

Have you disabled UAC? We found problems with all of the "metro apps" when this was the case! Alternatively, you could install a cheeky windows 7-esque calculator program which replaces the new app with the Windows 7 calc. https://winaero.com/download.php?view.1795

My first thought is that this is a driver problem. Does it use a specific driver or a generic one? If it's a specific one, you could try making a second printer share with a generic print driver and seeing if that helps?

Hi all, I've been asked to implement a message that says "Are you sure you want to save this?" with Yes/No/Cancel options which only needs to show for students who are marked as absent when a member of staff saves a register . I've never really come across this before but the member of staff who has requested it assured me that another school has implemented this. Could anybody advise me on how I could go about implementing this? Thanks a lot in advance Nat
