So for my 60th i was given an envelope by one of my schools which contained nice bit of cash they had whipped up. From my experience of using Moodle and Frog the teachers just couldn't be bothered with the concept of managing the platform and creating content and no one teacher would take responsibility for it and when they left it just fell by the wayside. The concept is good but without the dedication to make it work it becomes nothing but a folly.

Hi All, We are looking to conduct interviews of potential employees using live online video conference. We are currently using Google Meet among all the staff to collaborate etc during lockdown. Is our use of Google Meet suitable for this, as it at the moment only used within our domain. Any advice appreciated from or advice on something else that we could use. Thank You

Have you enabled remote access desktop connections for the local admins? That's all I have needed to do as well at those that you have done already.

Have you put the rules in the firewall to allow solus access turning it off on its own is not sufficient.

Left the Army in 2000 after 23 years as an Infantryman with no formal civilian qualifications, I worked with military comms and have a knack for problem solving and fixing things that can be fixed, computers had only just started being deployed in the 90's and to be honest I hated the things Mainframe, DOS, Win3.1 etc, on leaving I needed to find something that fitted in with my kids schooling so I targeted Education IT term time only, I trained myself from books on the working of the PC's/networks and really most of it has been on the job learning, landed my current job in 2001.

Similar but still the pc wouldn't come back online after reboot, the only way to get it back was to uninstall via device manager which they can't do, so cheap cards was my answer. 7-8 years old is young in my book.

I have moved most of our PC's to 1909 and noticed it was slow at first until I put all the latest updates on. No issues except the odd network driver so I just installed a another PCiE network card just cheap ones for those that were having the issue. These PC's are: Stone Desktops, Core i3s 4GB RAM 250GB SSD's they are 8 years old now, not bad really.

Same here, no issues, works on Windows 10-1909 its built into my image and if updates throw it out I re-install the drivers.

refurb would do but she wants a warranty maybe could upgrade the exiting Dell T440 with more ram and create a VM and put in a couple of extra drives the T440s are only a year old.

So after discussing with the head about replacing our old sims server, the original plan was to pop some SSDs in Raid 1 into another server that is 7 years old still works fine but only 4GB Ram and spin disks, I have been offered £1500 so can any one recomend me anything. Going to be running our Sims Db on Server 2016 and hold our admin documents. If anyone has a recomendation that I could look at it would help. Thanks

Hi All, Happy New Year and Welcome back. Can anyone recommend what SSDs I should put in to replace our Fujitsu Sims Server with another server running Server 2016. The replacement 2 servers are running 2016 ok but on standard SATA discs in raid 5. As these disks are over 6 years old its time to scrap them and put some SSDs in them but which ones? Any budget saving suggestions that could be recommended? Thanks
