We ran our first exam, mostly went ok, apart from the calculators not showing up on some of the machines, which doesn't really make sense... Just trying to do the update now. -

Pearson onscreen platform installation woes

WARNING!!!!! We ran another mock exam yesterday to check running an exam in multiple rooms with multiple invigilators, this worked Ok, but we discovered if the exam user presses windows key or alt + tab or alt+ esc, or in any way tries to get the start bar or IE up, then the exam locks itself and will just say "Loss of focus contact invigilator", there is no way of unlocking the exam when you get this without contacting Pearson, so make sure to warn the students, there are no warnings on the exam and no 2nd chances its an automatic lock out, and only Pearson can get it back on (according to Pearson). Just got it working now after reinstalling and trying different variations of our proxy address so it has to be in the format http://proxy.internet.com:8080 not with the forward slash as shown in the example, just need to book the demo test out now and try it out. Thanks for the advice! -

Exchange 2003 to 2013 migration route?

Is that a definite no, so exchange 2003 mailboxes cant be carried over to 2013? -
Exchange 2003 to 2013 migration route?
denzal2k4 replied to denzal2k4's topic in Enterprise Software
It is a new build, new box, new software just need the mailboxes bringing over really. Weve not really looked into Office 365 too much but I think it might be too big a leap for some staff, depending how this server build goes it may still be an option though. -
So we have a shiny new exchange server winging it's way to us, we were planning on running exchange 2010 but have since opted to go for exchange 2013 on Win2k8R2, having never done anything like this before it is a bit daunting made worse by 2013's new interface, so the rough plan was to pretty much leave 2003 running on the old box while setting up the new box with 2008R2 installing exchange 2013 setting up connectors dns etc then checking this functions as it should before exporting 03 mailboxes to pst's and then importing them into exchange 2013, does this sound like it would work, is there an easier way, are there any gotchas to be aware of? I've watched the exchange 2013 videos on youtube, install config etc but Im a bit unsure about the various dns settings mx records etc and where they actually need to point to and if anything needs changing on the rm hosting, when I do a lookup on our site we get as the mx record "preference = 10 in.mx.ifl.net. [217.181.2.38]" so is in.mx.ifl.net what we put as the mx record on the exchange server?? any tips tricks, guides, walkthrough gratefully accepted!

Thanks

Now might be the time to buy Halfords shares

We call that the "covered the car in superglue and ram-raided halfords" look. -

Could do that, I just thought there must be something out there that already does it, it's nothing to obscure we're asking for. How would we determine last accessed date from a batch file?
-
We're trying to decrease the number of files on our home drives and file servers and are looking for some software that constantly checks files last accessed date, and say if its not been accessed in 2 years is moved to an archive server/location, We have found Cyber-D's autodelete and although it looks good and works great locally, it fails to work on our mapped drives/unc locations. Does anyone know of some software that can do this? Must be free! Thanks in advance
